Marco Sturm scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season on Thursday night as the Bruins defeated the Canadiens 6-1 for their first victory in 13 matchups against the Habs.

Our View:Sturm never seems to get the credit he is due, but year after year he scores at least 20-goals from the left wing, a streak that includes six of the past seven seasons. Sturm has lit the lamp five times over the past five games.

Our View:This was easily his best performance of the season, as he only had one goal over 11 games heading into tonight.

The Boston Globe reports that Marco Sturm has been demoted to the third line for Saturday night's game. When asked what isn't going right with Sturm, Claude Julien had an encapsulating answer: "Everything." Sturm said he needed to be around the play more often and show a dirtier style.

Our View:Sturm has just one goal in 11 games despite taking 26 shots.
September 17, 2008
Marco Sturm is slated to open the season as the left wing on the Bruins second line skating alongside center Patrice Bergeron, according to the Boston Globe. Chuck Kobasew is expected to skate on the other wing.

Our View:This would be great news for Sturm if Bergeron is healthy, and would give the Bruins a solid second line behind the trio of Milan Lucic, Marc Savard and Michael Ryder. A full season of a healthy Bergeron should allow Sturm, who scored 27 times last season, a shot at 30 goals this year.
April 20, 2008
Marco Sturm earned Second Star honors for Saturday night, as he chipped in an assist and the game-winning goal in a 5-4 win over Montreal, according to NHL.com.

Our View:He is playing well right now as he notched a goal in each of the last two games.
April 19, 2008
Marco Sturm scored the game-winning goal with less than three minutes left to cap a wild third period as the Bruins won 5-4 to force a Game 7 with Montreal.

Our View:Sturm has always been a clutch performer, he has scored at least five game-winning goals in five of the last seven seasons, and tonight he scored a sweet goal to win it.

Marco Sturm scored two goals on Thursday night, the second his 200th of his career, in the Bruins victory over the Penguins. Sturm has been on a fairly blazing pace of late with 11 goals and 23 points in his last 23 games, marking him as a great play at the LW spot down the stretch.
February 21, 2008
Marco Sturm had a goal and two assists on Thursday night and he also scored the game-winner in the shutout for the Bruins. Sturm's goal was his 20th of the season, the sixth straight season in which he has skated in at least 64 games that he has reached that mark. Sturm continues to be one of the most undercover goal scorers from the LW in the NHL and always seems to make himself a valuable late round grab.
