November 8, 2009 Erik Cole finally got his first goal of the season on Saturday in Carolina's 3-2 loss to Columbus. Cole had failed to register a point in his first five games this year. Our View:Cole isn't the offensive threat that he once was, but he still has enough ability to get in the goal column every now and again. He doesn't look like much of a fantasy play, but the Hurricanes hope his leadership can light a spark under a struggling team. |

November 1, 2009 The Our View:Cole wasn't scheduled to be back until mid-November, so he has healed very quickly. The Canes need a boost from somewhere, so hopefully Cole can deliver. He was scoreless in two games before his injury. |

October 29, 2009 Our View:If Cole can make it back this weekend, he would be well ahead of the mid-November projected date. The Canes need all the help they can get right now, and a veteran like Cole might be enough to spark the offense. He had 42 points last season, so he is capable of scoring. |
