Donovan McNabb, QB Wednesday 9/8, 7:07 PM CT
Donovan McNabb (ankle) practiced without limitations Wednesday, according to ESPN.

Our View: McNabb's looking healthier and healthier, and he's already confirmed that he'll start this week. Although the veteran QB has stated that Washington can't win without disgruntled DT Albert Haynesworth, they'd have a tougher time with McNabb. Looks like he'll be full-speed for his third tilt with the Cowboys in his past three games.
Devin Thomas, WR Wednesday 9/8, 2:38 PM CT
Devin Thomas will not see much time on offense this week, according to the Free Lance-Star's Rich Campbell.

Our View: Thomas has a ways to go before gaining any fantasy relevance. There's little reason to own him right now.
Albert Haynesworth, DT Tuesday 9/7, 6:32 PM CT
According to Rick Maese of the Washington Post, the Redskins continue to insist they are not trying to trade defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

Our View: Of course, their official stance is believed to vary greatly from what is going on behind the scenes. Tennessee remains the favorites for Haynesworth's services should he indeed be moved.
Donovan McNabb, QB Tuesday 9/7, 11:30 AM CT
Donovan McNabb (ankle) has confirmed that he'll start for the Redskins on Sunday night, according to the Washington Post. "Yes, I will be starting this weekend," McNabb said. "And I look forward to it."

Our View: McNabb did, however, admit that his ankle is not 100 percent healed. While it's nice to hear that he'll be in action, he still has a tough matchup against the Cowboys. Given that he's not completely healthy, there's probably at least 10-12 quarterbacks we'd rather have in our lineup this week.
Albert Haynesworth, DT Tuesday 9/7, 8:28 AM CT
The Redskins and Titans are discussing a possible trade involving Albert Haynesworth, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Our View: No deal is imminent, but it'd certainly make sense for both Washington and Haynesworth to part ways. We'll have to wait and see if any agreement is struck.
Donovan McNabb, QB Monday 9/6, 1:51 PM CT
Donovan McNabb (ankle) participated and appeared fully healthy at the Redskins' practice today, according to the Free Lance-Star's Rich Campbell.

Our View: Everyone in the Redskins' camp is expecting McNabb to be active in Week 1, and there's no reason to think otherwise at this point. Barring a setback, he'll be taking the team's first snap this season.
Ryan Torain, RB Sunday 9/5, 5:30 PM CT
The Redskins have signed Ryan Torain to their practice squad, according to the Free Lance-Star's Rich Campbell.

Our View: Washington also signed Terrence Austin, Selvish Capers, Erik Cook, Rob Jackson, Will Robinson and Anderson Russell to the practice squad.
Donovan McNabb, QB Sunday 9/5, 10:03 AM CT
According to Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post, coach Mike Shanahan is confident that Donovan McNabb (ankle) will start week one.

Our View: Shanahan is happy with the pace of McNabb's recovery, and he added that the quarterback should be able to practice over the "next couple of days." Stay tuned for updates on McNabb's status.
Albert Haynesworth, DT Saturday 9/4, 7:41 PM CT
"A disappointing performance by Albert Haynesworth in the Redskins' preseason finale has renewed concerns about the Pro Bowler's commitment to the team and apparently has affected his status for the regular-season opener against Dallas," according to the Washington Post. Citing two sources, the paper says Haynesworth was "awful Thursday during the Cardinals' 20-10 victory at University of Phoenix Stadium," and that when he did actually play well he "failed to adhere to the principles of the new 3-4 scheme."

Our View: What a disaster. At this point, Washington simply has to swallow its pride and cut its losses. Since that would be the right thing to do, however, don't expect owner Daniel Snyder to do it.
Devin Thomas, WR Saturday 9/4, 3:09 PM CT
Devin Thomas has made the Redskins' final roster, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: We may never know if he indeed was on the roster bubble, but regardless, he made the team. Still, his fantasy value is minimal.
Ryan Torain, RB Saturday 9/4, 11:20 AM CT
Ryan Torain has been released by the Redskins, according to beat reporter Grant Paulsen.

Our View: He'll be added to the team's practice squad. With Willie Parker having been cut as well, it looks like Keiland Williams will serve as the No. 3 running back behind Clinton Portis and Larry Johnson.
Willie Parker, RB Saturday 9/4, 11:00 AM CT
The Redskins have cut Willie Parker, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View: Parker has never been too tough of a back, and he no longer possesses the speed that once made him special. He'll be looking for work now, though we don't expect many calls to be coming in. This news means that Larry Johnson will serve as Clinton Portis' backup.
Larry Johnson, RB Thursday 9/2, 2:35 PM CT
According to the Redskins' official website, one of Larry Johnson and Willie Parker will most likely be cut this weekend.

Our View: It could come down to who performs better in Washington's final preseason game on Thursday evening. Further removed from his former greatness, Johnson is the more likely of the two to get cut.
Devin Thomas, WR Thursday 9/2, 11:00 AM CT
According to the Washington Examiner, "Redskins receiver Devin Thomas is definitely on the bubble."

Our View: His possible release shows just unproven and untalented Washington's receiving corps really is. He's worth nothing more than a late-round flier in PPR leagues.
Albert Haynesworth, DT Thursday 9/2, 10:17 AM CT
According to the Washington Post, Albert Haynesworth will play in the Redskins' final preseason game on Thursday evening.

Our View: Normally, veterans and first stringers sit out the fourth game of the preseason, but seeing as Haynesworth has barely played this summer and is currently running with the second stringers, he could be on the field for up to an entire half this evening.
Edwin Williams, C Wednesday 9/1, 6:00 PM CT
The Bears claimed center Edwin Williams off waivers Wednesday, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Williams, an undrafted free agent out of Marylandin 2009, appeared in four regular season games with two starts for the Redskins last season. Running back Brandon Minor was waived in a corresponding move.
John Beck, QB Wednesday 9/1, 5:09 PM CT
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Redskins signed quarterback John Beck to a two-year, $2.25 million extension Wednesday.

Our View: Looks like coach Mike Shanahan sees something in Beck, who has completed just 9-of-18 passes for 103 yards and no scores this preseason. Of course, it could also be that Shanahan doesn't see much in backup Rex Grossman. Beck will be in Washington for the next three seasons, and he could be the guy Washington wants to eventually take over for Donovan McNabb, even if he's third string this season.
