James Butler, S Wednesday 9/8, 7:22 PM CT
James Butler (sprained MCL) resumed practicing in team drills Wednesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Craig Dahl looks like the starter at strong safety, at least early on. Butler's been working with the scout team, a sign that he's got a ways to go after missing nearly all of training camp.
Keenan Burton, WR Tuesday 9/7, 12:44 PM CT
The Rams have cut Keenan Burton, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: The move was made to create space for the recently-acquired Mark Clayton. If Burton can't find a spot among the weak receiving corps in St. Louis, we doubt he'll be able to do so anywhere else, especially this late in the process.
Bobby Carpenter, LB Monday 9/6, 1:23 PM CT
The Dolphins have signed Bobby Carpenter, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Omar Kelly.

Our View: He'll back up Karlos Dansby and Channing Crowder at linebacker and help out on special teams. Charlie Anderson was cut in a corresponding move.
Chris Ogbonnaya, RB Sunday 9/5, 8:06 PM CT
The Texans have signed Chris Ogbonnaya to their practice squad, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View: Bobby Williams, Malcolm Sheppard, Brett Helms, Cole Pemberton, Isaiah Greenhouse and Torri Williams were all signed to the practice squad as well.
Danario Alexander, WR Sunday 9/5, 1:05 PM CT
Rookie wide receiver Danario Alexander has been signed to the Rams practice squad, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Alexander went undrafted in April, but he was wildly productive at Missouri, and he has great size. He'll take some time to get acclimated to the NFL, but he's got the potential to develop for a team that needs all the help they can get out wide.
Bobby Carpenter, LB Saturday 9/4, 4:41 PM CT
Acquired for offensive lineman Alex Barron last May, linebacker Bobby Carpenter was a surprise cut by the Rams on Saturday, according to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi.

Our View: He simply didn't show enough speed to make up for his lack of typical NFL strength this summer. It's unlikely that he has played his final game, but his name isn't one you should expect to hear much going forward.
Keith Null, QB Saturday 9/4, 1:56 PM CT
The Rams have released Keith Null, according to ESPN.com's Mike Sando.

Our View: Thaddeus Lewis beat Null out for the No. 3 quarterback job in St. Louis behind Sam Bradford and A.J. Feeley.
Sam Bradford, QB Saturday 9/4, 1:55 PM CT
Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo has announced Sam Bradford as his team's Week 1 starter, according to ESPN.com's Mike Sando.

Our View: This move was expected for the past few weeks, as A.J. Feeley has been hurt while Bradford has excelled in the preseason. While Bradford is by no means a starting fantasy quarterback in 10, 12 or even 14-team leagues, he does have decent upside as a backup fantasy quarterback. He also has nice value in keeper or dynasty leagues, depending on the format.
Sam Bradford, QB Friday 9/3, 3:37 PM CT
Head coach Steve Spagnuolo will make announce the team's starting quarterback in the next two or three days, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: At this point it'd be shocking if Bradford wasn't announced as the starter. A.J. Feeley has been hurt, while Bradford has looked sharp in the preseason.
Sam Bradford, QB Thursday 9/2, 7:39 PM CT
Sam Bradford went 6-of-6 for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Rams preseason finale Thursday.

Our View: Bradford found Danny Amendola for a 36-yard gain and scored with a two-yarder to tight end Billy Bajema. Amendola is tentatively penciled in as the No. 2 wideout in St. Louis, and he could be a decent sleeper if his chemistry with Bradford continues to grow.
Danny Amendola, WR Thursday 9/2, 5:36 PM CT
Danny Amendola will start for the Rams in their preseason finale Thursday, according to the team's Twitter page.

Our View: Amendola was bumped up to the No. 2 receiver role after starter Donnie Avery was lost for the season with a knee injury. Still, this doesn't guarantee that he'll hold onto the job. Brandon Gibson and rookie Mardy Gilyard both have a shot to wrest the job away before the regular season kicks off.
Kenneth Darby, RB Thursday 9/2, 12:04 PM CT
Running backs Kenneth Darby, Chris Ogbonnaya and Keith Toston are all candidates for release this weekend, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: None of the three have established themselves as Steven Jackson's primary back-up this preseason, meaning St. Louis could decide to just go with the youngest and cheapest option. For the moment, Ogbonnaya seems like the least likely to get released.
Daniel Fells, TE Thursday 9/2, 12:01 PM CT
Tight end Daniel Fells is on the Rams' roster bubble, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: After reeling in 21 balls for 273 yards and three touchdowns last season, he signed one-year, $1.5 million deal this offseason. However, Michael Hoomanawanui has looked very impressive this summer, potentially making Fells expendable for the Rams. Stay tuned.
