Rams sign CB Bartell St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Rams re-signed free agent
cornerback Ron Bartell to a four-year contract on Wednesday.
"It was apparent to us that Ron fits the mold we are looking for in our
defensive players," said St. Louis head coach Steve Spagnuolo. "Ron is a good
player and an even better person. We are glad he will be a part of our team."
Bartell played in all 16 games with a career-high 14 starts in 2008. He tied
his career high with three interceptions and added 20 passes defensed, which
is a best for him.
Due to a lack of evidence, Steven Jackson will not face charges for allegedly beating the mother of his child, Supriya Harris, last March, according to TMZ.
Our View:While this does not necessarily mean he is innocent, it is still good news for Jackson and his fans. This, coupled with the fact that Ms. Harris took over 10 months to come forward with her allegations, should leave his reputation relatively unharmed.
In a disheartening story out of St. Louis, Rams running back Steven Jackson has been accused of beating his then pregnant girlfriend in March of last year, according to TMZ.
Our View:Supriya Harris has filed a criminal complaint with the Las Vegas Police Department. It is unclear why she is filing a complaint nine months after the fact, so obviously, no conclusions can yet be jumped to. Stay tuned.
