Seahawks WRs Branch, Engram set to make 2008 debuts
Kirkland, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Seahawks will get a much- needed boost this Sunday when wide receivers Deion Branch and Bobby Engram suit up for the first time this season for a matchup with the New York Giants.

The Seahawks have been decimated by injuries at the receiver position with both Branch and Engram missing time to start the season. Nate Burleson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in a season-opening loss to Buffalo and up-start wideout Ben Obomanu broke his collarbone in the final preseason tuneup and was placed on IR.

Player Notes
Deion Branch, WR Monday 10/6, 5:57 PM CT
Deion Branch's heel injury may or may not allow him to play in Week 6, according to The Seattle Times. While Branch likely wouldn't further injury himself by playing, the injury is extremely painful to play on.

Our View:Branch relies on being able to cut quickly to juke defenders, and if his foot precludes him from doing just that he is highly unlikely to be successful. Monitor his progress this week, but it doesn't sound like you should be counting on him.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB Monday 10/6, 5:53 PM CT
Matt Hasselbeck's injured right knee received a positive review after an MRI was clean, according to The Seattle Times. He is expected to practice this week.

Our View:It's been a rough start for Hasselbeck and most of the Seahawks offense early in the year, but at least Matt escaped serious injury. He is obviously expected to play in Week 6 against the Packers.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB Monday 10/6, 10:40 AM CT
Matt Hasselbeck is slated for X-rays and an MRI today after sustaining an apparent hyperextended knee during Sunday's blowout loss to the Giants, according to The News Tribune.

Our View:Hasselbeck walked with a noticeable limp after the game, and was in a considerable amount of pain. Seneca Wallace would handle the starting role at quarterback if Hasselbeck is forced to miss any time.
