Matt Jones, WR Tuesday 7/22, 8:29 PM CT
In an odd turn of events, the Jacksonville Jaguars have announced receiver Matt Jones will not be cut from the roster before the start of training camp, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:In the season debut of The Jack Del Rio Show on WOKV in Jacksonville, the Jags head coach said that Jones will be with the team when training camp opens later this month, despite being arrested for felony cocaine possession earlier this month. We are unwilling to assert he is insured of a second chance, but we do know the Jags are hurting to keep receivers in tow (with Jerry Porter hurting and possibly out for extended time). If he can get through the legal troubles, he may stick. We'll keep you posted.
Jerry Porter, WR Saturday 7/19, 10:29 AM CT
Head coach Jack Del Rio is among the most optimistic regarding Jerry Porter's recent surgery to repair his hamstring, according to the Times-Union. "Jerry had a successful surgical repair to a hamstring tendon that had continued to bother him," Del Rio said. "We expect a complete recovery in time for the regular season."

Our View:It's still likely that he will miss the entire preseason. Given that he's in a new offense with new teammates, expect the first half of the season to be somewhat of an adjustment period.
Jerry Porter, WR Friday 7/18, 5:48 PM CT
Updating an earlier story, Jerry Porter had surgery for a torn hamstring and will miss the preseason, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Porter is expected to contribute handsomely to the Jacksonville offense, but keep the injury in mind during fantasy drafts, as hamstrings are notorious for being nagging injuries.
