Cowboys release S Williams Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Cowboys are apparently continuing to
tinker with their roster, as veteran safety Roy Williams has reportedly been
released.
The Dallas Morning News reported the move Thursday morning, citing a text
message from Williams. The paper also said the club had tried to trade the
five-time Pro Bowl selection.
Williams, a former first-round draft pick, played the past seven years with
the Cowboys and his release will save about $2 million in salary cap space.

The Titans have added Herb Donaldson to their practice squad, according to the team's official site.
Our View:Donaldson was waived by the Cowboys over the weekend, but lands in a better situation with the Titans. With Chris Johnson and Javon Ringer as the only backs on Tennessee's roster, Donaldson would be plucked off the practice squad if either of those two got hurt.
According to ESPN, "the playing status of Dallas Cowboys starting offensive linemen Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier is in question for the regular-season opener at the Washington Redskins as they recover from knee injuries."
Our View:Disconcerting news for those planning on Tony Romo having a career year in 2010. Without that duo, a win for Dallas at Washington is far from a gimme. Expect an update on their status later this week.
Junior Siavii has been claimed off waiver by the Seahawks, according to Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times.
Our View:At 6-foot-5, 320 pounds will likely work in a rotation at nose tackle behind starter Colin Cole once he acclimates to Seattle's 4-3 system. He's been manning the same spot in Dallas's 3-4.
