Panthers run at will, keep Lions winless Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - DeAngelo Williams had two rushing touchdowns
while Jonathan Stewart had one on the ground as the Carolina Panthers downed
the winless Detroit Lions, 31-22, at Bank of America Stadium.
Williams finished the game with 14 carries for 120 yards while Stewart had 15
carries for 130 yards for the Panthers (8-2), who have won their last four
games.
Jake Delhomme went 10-for-19 with 98 yards and a score as Carolina maintained
its one-game lead over Tampa Bay, which won on Sunday, for first place in the
NFC South.
Jake Delhomme has been struggling his last couple outings and has even started to hear boos from the home crowd. Head coach Jon Fox said he has full confidence in his QB and will not make a switch, according to Pro Football Weekly.
Our View:Delhomme is only completing 56% of his passes and has thrown nine interceptions.
Defensive end Julius Peppers registered two sacks in the Week 11 win over the Lions. It was his second straight game with multiple sacks, and he is up to nine on the season.
Our View:Peppers has been very active the last two weeks and has turned back into the stud of old. IDP owners likely got a bargain, as his price was down heading into 2008.
