Everette Brown intends to add bulk and get stronger in the offseason, according to the Panthers' official website.

Our View:Brown is a very good athlete and has nice upside for the NFL, but lacked bulk while coming out of Florida State. He could play a larger role at defensive end in 2010, especially if Julius Peppers does not return.

Second-round pick Everette Brown has agreed to a four-year deal with the Panthers worth $4.3MM, according to ESPN.

Our View:Brown will compete for the starting gig at left defensive end in training camp. Even as a backup, he should make an impact right away as a pass rusher. He is worth targeting in IDP keeper leagues, especially those that put a premium on sacks.

The Rock Hill Herald is reporting that rookie Everette Brown has been taking the majority of his snaps at left defensive end so far this offseason. Brown was the Panthers' first pick in this year's draft out of Florida State.

Our View:Brown is undersized to play left end, giving up anywhere from 50-80 pounds to the tackle he will rush against. With Julius Peppers on the right side and Tyler Brayton and Charles Johnson also in the mix, expect Brown to be used simply as a pass rush specialist this season. The plan is for him to eventually take over for Peppers at right end after this season.

The Carolina Panthers reportedly surrendered their 2010 first-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the 43rd overall pick, and used it to select Florida State defensive end Everette Brown.

Our View:Brown was mocked by many to be a first-round pick, but he fell like a boat anchor. Over the past two years, he has compiled 33 tackles for a loss and 20.0 sacks, and will compete with Tyler Brayton and Charles Johnson to start opposite Julius Peppers.

Everette Brown's (Florida State) draft stock is on the rise, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Brown met with 25 teams at the NFL Combine, and worked out privately for the Chiefs and Patriots. The Dolphins, Rams and Packers are also believed to be interested. Brown runs a 4.66 in the 40-yard dash, and could serve as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense or work at defensive end in a 4-3. Brown is considered the best pass rusher in the 2009 draft class, and is expected to be a top-15 draft pick.
