Adam Vinatieri has signed the Patriots one-year franchise tender and is still eligible to ink a long-term contract with the team, although it can't happen until after July 15, according to the Sports Network.

Adam Vinatieri was designated the Patriots' franchise player Tuesday for the second time in his career, according to the AP. Vinatieri will earn roughly $2.5 million in 2005, but it's likely he'll agree with the Pats on a long-term deal soon.
