The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Caleb Hanie was officially named Jay Cutler's back-up on Friday.

Our View:Finally, Bears fans can bask in a roster that officially no longer has either Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman on it. Hanie threw for 374 yards and two touchdowns this preseason, posting an 89.9 passer rating.

The Chicago Sun-Times says Caleb Hanie has "clearly taken control" of the Bears backup quarterback position.

Our View:Normally, being a Bears backup would mean you were going to play at some point. But with Jay Cutler on board, you, and all of Chicago, should hope he never takes a snap. He is not a fantasy option even should Cutler go down.

Our View:As we thought, running back Matt Forte is active and will start for the Bears. It's a must win game for Chicago to make the playoffs, so it's not too surprising that he'll play.

Our View:Adewale Ogunleye was the biggest name on the injury report this week. He is active, and the Bears are in good shape for this home game. Adrian Peterson will serve as the top backup to Matt Forte, who leads the NFL in touches.
