Richard Bartel has been promoted from the Browns' practice squad to serve as a backup to starting quarterback Brad Gradkowski in Week 17 at Pittsburgh, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The second-year pro out of Tarleton State is yet to play in an NFL game, and will not likely make an impact if forced into action Sunday.

Richard Bartel has been signed to the Browns' practice squad, according to the Dayton Daily News. Wide receiver Steve Sanders was placed on waivers to make room for Bartel while linebacker Titus Brown was signed from the practice squad.

Our View:Bartel being added was likely influenced by Brady Quinn being out for the remainder of the year.

September 1, 2008
Quarterback Richard Bartel has been signed to the Cowboys practice squad after spending training camp with the team, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Bartel played will in the team's final game, playing the whole way and completing 28 of 41 passes for 233 yards.
August 28, 2008
Richard Bartel led the Cowboys to a 16-10 victory over the Vikings as he threw 41 passes, completing 28, on his way to 233 yards.

Our View:Bartel spread the ball around with Tashard Choice and Keon Lattimore each hauling in six passes. Bartel is clearly behind Brad Johnson in the race to backup Tony Romo and is below a non-entity in fantasy leagues.
