May 27, 2008 As the spring workouts resume today, rookie Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu is in the training room. That is where the injured cornerback will be putting in his time this season. Ikegwuonu a fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin, has accepted the fact that a knee injury suffered in January will prevent him from playing until the 2009 NFL season, according to Our View:In addition to the injury issues, Ikegwuonu has a trial set for July 14, at which time he will face charges of a Class I felony for residential burglary. If convicted, he faces a mandatory sentence of four years in prison and maximum of 15. Ikegwuonu has stated that the local DA has attempted to make plea bargain offers, and is positive things will be resolved soon. |
