Pro Football Weekly reports many in New England believe Kevin O'Connell should be considered for the starting quarterback job over Matt Cassel.

Our View:This situation is worth watching if the Patriots offense continues to struggle. Cassel certainly has not done anything to help fantasy owners thus far.

Kevin O'Connell worked the final two drives of Sunday's loss to Miami after Matt Cassel was benched, according to the Boston Globe. He completed 3-of-4 passes for 25 yards.

Our View:O'Connell has a strong arm and quick release, and would be worth acquiring if Matt Cassel gets demoted. The Patriots have a bye in Week 4, giving Cassel time to recover and put Sunday's game behind him.

Rookie Kevin O'Connell was designated the No. 2 quarterback Sunday with Matt Gutierrez inactive, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:O'Connell has a strong arm and quick release, but would not likely be ready to lead the Patriots and make a solid fantasy impact if Matt Cassel goes down.

Kevin O'Connell is the No. 2 quarterback in New England behind new starter Matt Cassel, according to the Boston Globe. The team promoted Matt Gutierrez from the practice squad, but has been assigned to clipboard duty as the third option on the depth chart.

Our View:O'Connell has a strong arm and quick release, but the third-round rookie wouldn't likely be thrown into the starting lineup if Cassel suffers an injury.

The Patriots inked third-round pick Kevin O'Connell (San Diego State), according to the Boston Globe. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View:O'Connell possesses a strong arm and a quick release, but will hold no value as a fantasy keeper in New England while working behind Tom Brady.
