Bears offensive tackle Chris Williams, the team's first-round draft pick, made his season debut against Green Bay in the fourth quarter, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:The paper reports that it was not a great start, and on Williams' first snap, Aaron Kampman went right by him, with only a good move by Rex Grossman saving a sack.

Because of how well the Bears' offensive line is playing, it does not seem likely that first-round pick Chris Williams will be seeing much action soon, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:John St. Clair is the left tackle, and John Tait mans the far outside post on the right. Neither are so talented that Williams won't eventually see time, but for now, the Bears will hold steady.

Chris Williams is expected to see action with Chicago before their bye in Week 8, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. GM Jerry Angelo stated that he could play at any time and he added, "His progress has been very good. Right now our situation with Chris is he missed all of training camp. He's practicing and we keep graduating him each and every week, really it's the last two weeks he's doing more and more. So everything looks good."

Our View:He was projected to start at left tackle this season prior to sustaining a back ailment, which resulted in surgery to repair a herniated disc. The Bears remaining opponents before the bye are the Falcons and Vikings.

First-round pick Chris Williams participated fully in practice Friday for the first time since having surgery to repair a herniated disc in his lower back, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "It's real encouraging," Williams said. "I'm ready to play, know what I mean?"

Our View:Williams won't play on Sunday, but the team is hopeful that he'll be back before the end of the month.

Chris Williams is practicing in full pads today, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He is recovering from surgery to repair a herniated disc in his lower back.

Our View:He is practicing on a limited basis. The team is yet to set a timetable for his return to the gridiron, but GM Jerry Angelo believes he will be back before November.
