Dan Connor is going to miss the remainder of his rookie campaign due to a torn ACL in his left knee, according to ESPN.

The Panthers have inked rookie linebacker Dan Connor to a four-year deal worth $2.494 million, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Connor holds the Penn State record with 419 career tackles. The third-round pick could start as a middle linebacker in the NFL, but he will be forced to serve as a backup in Carolina behind rising star Jon Beason.

Rookie linebacker Dan Connor is working at middle linebacker during the Carolina Panthers organized team activities, though the coaching staff thinks he can man the weak side down the road as well, according to the Rock Hill Herald.

Our View:Connor will likely start his NFL career on special teams, as the Panthers are pretty deep at linebacker. Jon Beason is a stud in the middle, while Landon Johnson and Na’il Diggs are competing for the weakside role.
