Darrell Hackney has been activated from the Broncos' practice squad, according to NFL.com. To make room on the roster, the Broncos waived offensive tackle Matt Murphy.

Our View:Hackney will serve as Jay Cutler's backup Sunday against Miami, and holds no fantasy value as of now.

Darrell Hackney was signed to the Broncos from their practice squad in order to take the place of the injured Patrick Ramsey, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:Hackney will be the backup to Jay Cutler, and is not fantasy viable unless Cutler suffers an injury. Even then, he probably wouldn't be much of an option.

The Broncos signed quarterback Darrell Hackney to their practice squad on Sunday, the Denver Post report. Offensive lineman Mitch Erickson, defensive tackle Steven Harris, and safety Josh Barrett were also signed.

Our View:Hackney remains the No. 3 quarterback, as only Jay Cutler and Patrick Ramsey are on the active roster.
August 30, 2008
Darrell Hackney was cut by the Broncos, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He was competing for the No. 3 role at quarterback and fared well against Arizona in the preseason. If he clears waivers, the Broncos intend to re-sign him to their practice squad.
December 2, 2007
Broncos third-string quarterback Darrell Hackney was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Saturday morning, the AP reported. Hackney was processed and released.

Our View:Hackney was upset that no one ever wrote a newsbreaker about him, ultimately driving him to drink in excess. He was then arrested, thus making a big enough news splash to get a newsbreaker. So it all worked out in the end.
