Tony Gonzalez has been fitting in well with the Falcons so far, according to the Charlotte Observer. He has showed up early for practice, stayed late and displayed that he still has solid speed at 33. Quarterback Matt Ryan is very pleased that Atlanta reeled in the elite tight end and said, "Any time that you get a new toy, you want to try it out."

Our View:Gonzalez hauled in 96 receptions for 1,058 yards and 10 scores in 2008, and should be headed for another strong campaign with Atlanta. They are more efficient than Kansas City, namely as they have more stability at quarterback with rising star Ryan.

Our View:The 33-year-old vet is not nursing an injury, and head coach Mike Smith is just giving his older players some rest.

The Chiefs have agreed to deal Tony Gonzalez to the Falcons in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2010 draft, according to FOX Sports.

Our View:Gonzalez wanted to leave Kansas City, and the club granted his wish. The Falcons will not likely target Brandon Pettigrew (Oklahoma State) in the draft following the trade. The Falcons filled their void at tight end, and added a future Hall of Famer to their aerial attack.

The Philadelphia Inquirer is disputing the rumor that the Eagles are interested in acquiring Tony Gonzalez from the Chiefs.

Our View:The Inquirer also does not believe the Eagles will make a move for Anquan Boldin, Chad Johnson or Braylon Edwards either. The Falcons have also been linked to Gonzalez.

Our View:The Eagles are believed to be offering a third-round pick for the elite tight end, but Kansas City still wants a second-rounder in return. It is uncertain if the Eagles would still target a receiver at some point in the draft if they add Gonzalez to their aerial attack.
