Tashard Choice filled in nicely for the ineffective Marion Barber on Saturday, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. He also had seven receptions for 27 yards.

Our View:If the Cowboys could get Barber healthy, they could have a potent one-two punch with him and Choice.

Tashard Choice was once again a force to be reckoned with on Sunday as the Cowboys beat the Giants 20-8. He needed just nine carries to pile up 91 yards and a touchdown. The rookie also had four catches for 54 yards.

Our View:Choice has been fantastic while filling in for the injured Marion Barber (toe). Barber was back in limited fashion in Week 15 and had 10 touches but just 26 yards.

The Cowboys are confident that rookie Tashard Choice can handle the backup running back duties, and won't be in the market to sign a veteran, according to Pam Oliver of FOX Sports.

Our View:Given that Felix Jones is a lock to be placed on injured reserve, owners of Marion Barber should scoop up Choice as an insurance policy for the remainder of the season.

Running back Tashard Choice , the Cowboys' fourth-round choice (123rd overall) has agreed to a four-year contract with the team, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Choice, from Georgia Tech, is expected to compete for the team's No. 3 running back spot. Terms were not disclosed.

If all goes well this season, Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Tashard Choice's biggest contributions will come on special teams, according to the Dallas Morning News. Choice will be the No. 3 back behind Pro Bowler Marion Barber and first round pick Felix Jones. Choice is in town to provide depth and insurance. However, the odds that Barber and Jones will go through an entire season without getting nicked up are slim. It's Choice's job to be ready to produce when the Cowboys need him.

Our View:Choice is a physical player that excels in pass blocking. The only knock on him is the lack of breakaway speed, but if Barber were to miss an extended period of time he is better suited than Jones, to run between the tackles. The Cowboys' plan is to sign Barber to a long-term deal, but if that doesn't happen, Choice could be splitting carries with Jones in 2009, making him an interesting dynasty prospect.
