Allen Patrick has been promoted from the Browns' practice squad, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The club signed tight end Jed Collins to the practice squad as the adjoining move.

Our View:The rookie out of Oklahoma does not merit fantasy consideration this late in the season, especially with the struggling Browns.

Allen Patrick was released by the Ravens, according to the Baltimore Sun. The team also cut linebacker Gary Stills, cornerback Ronnie Prude, offensive tackle Chad Slaughter, wide receiver Justin Harper. Other players waived were offensive linemen Adrien Clarke and rookies Joe Reitz and Adam Kraus, defensive linemen Darrell Campbell, Amon Gordon and Lorenzo Williams, wide receivers Matt Willis, Patrick Carter and Ernie Wheelwright, tight ends Adam Bergen and Keith Heinrich, running back Alex Haynes, linebacker Robert McCune and quarterback Casey Bramlet.

Our View:Patrick was on the bubble to make the team at running back, and it burst for him today. He has great quickness but his lack of size cost him a spot on the roster.

Allen Patrick is on the bubble to make the Ravens' roster at running back, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:The seventh-round pick out of Oklahoma has exceptional quickness, but his thin frame (6-1 198 pounds) may prevent him from making the team. He was also hindered by a sore left hamstring during minicamp, which lowered his odds even further.

Rookie running back Allen Patrick didn’t participate during the Baltimore Ravens’ rookie mini-camp on Wednesday because of sore left hamstring, according to the Carroll County Times. “He’s been fighting that, really, since he got here,” head coach John Harbaugh said. “He’s going to have to work hard on that the next few weeks.”

Our View:Definitely not a good thing when rookies miss crucial repetitions in camp, and even more problematic when you consider Patrick is a seventh round draft pick. He will need to step it up in training camp to make the final roster.
