Anthony Spencer has been told he will begin seeing more action on first and second down, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:That would improve his fantasy stock, and decrease Greg Ellis' value, who would likely see a diminished role. Spencer is less dangerous as a pass rusher than Ellis, but is better in run support.

Veteran starting outside linebacker Greg Ellis could get benched in favor of second-year player Anthony Spencer, according to the Dallas Morning news.

Our View:The Cowboys defensive coaches have told Spencer that he will play more on first and second down. "I feel like I can contribute right now," Spencer said.

Anthony Spencer missed the last couple games with a hamstring injury, but on Thursday participated fully in practice, according to the Dallas Morning News. Wade Phillips plans on letting Spencer loose against the Giants.

Our View:The Cowboys will need all hands on deck when they take on the Giants this weekend. Spencer will be welcomed back to the defense for sure.
October 29, 2008
Anthony Spencer was limited in Cowboys practice on Wednesday with an injured hamstring, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Head coach Wade Phillips did not announce the status of Spencer for this weekend, but did say he has made significant progress.

The Cowboys said today that Anthony Spencer will most likely be out again in Week 8 with a knee injury, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Spencer doesn't hold any fantasy value and has only recorded six tackles this year to go along with a fumble recovery.
