Player Notes
December 28, 2008
Running back Fred Jackson rushed 27 times for 136 yards in the Week 17 loss to the Patriots.

Our View:Jackson ran hard and ran well in the bad weather. He has again proven that he is a very good fantasy handcuff to Marshawn Lynch.
December 28, 2008
Running back Fred Jackson headed to the sidelines with an apparent right hand or arm injury during the second quarter of the Week 17 game against the Patriots. Xavier Omon replaced him.

Our View:We're not sure of the severity at this point, but Jackson didn't look too bad on the sidelines.
December 21, 2008
Running back Fred Jackson filled in for the injured Marshawn Lynch (shoulder) in the second half of Sunday's win in Denver, according to the AP. He carried the ball 10 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes for 70 yards.

Our View:Jackson may get the start next week unless Lynch improves significantly. Even if he does, he faces a tough match up against the New England Patriots.
September 28, 2008
Jackson had seven carries for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' victory over the Rams in Week 4. He also added three receptions for nine yards.

Our View:Jackson has been productive for fantasy owners in two out of four games this season, but he has yet to top 10 carries in a game. Marshawn Lynch is still getting the goal-line carries, so there is not much reason to consider Jackson if you don't already own Lynch.
September 14, 2008
Fred Jackson carried the ball six times for 17 yards and chipped in seven receptions for 83 yards in the Bills' victory over Jacksonville.

Our View:Marshawn Lynch compiled 19 carries and did most of the damage on the ground, but Jackson was a primary checkdown target for quarterback Trent Edwards all afternoon. Jackson didn't catch a pass last week, but has accumulated 23 touches during the first two games of the 2008 campaign.

Fred Jackson is splitting first-team reps with Marshawn Lynch, according to Bills.com.

Our View:Jackson has a firm grip on the No. 2 role behind Lynch, leaving Dwayne Wright to battle with rookie Xavier Omon for the third spot on the depth chart. Jackson is the preferred back to target as a "handcuff" for Lynch.
June 7, 2008
If the growing legal problems of Marshawn Lynch preclude him from starting the season with his teammates, it would appear that Fred Jackson would be the team's starter, according to Buffalo Rumblings. Dwayne Wright and Xavier Omon could also find themselves toting the rock.

Our View:Will the Bills consider another troubled running back, the recently released Travis Henry, if Lynch is indeed unable to play? Just a thought.
