Player Notes
December 17, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a neck problem, according to the Sporting News.

Our View:Bradshaw has been the Giants' third string back for most of the year and isn't likely to see a lot of playing time against Carolina with Brandon Jacobs likely to play.
November 30, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw was the third Giants player present at the night club where Plaxico Burress accidently shot himself, the New York Daily News reports. He was reportedly on the other side of the night club and not involved in the incident.

Our View:Bradshaw is on probation in Virginia, so his presence at the night club could have been a concern.
November 30, 2008
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is inactive for the Week 13 game against the Redskins.

Our View:Bradshaw has only one 10-carry game and three total catches all season, so this isn't a big blow for fantasy teams. Derrick Ward remains the primary backup to Brandon Jacobs, and Reuben Droughns should step into the No. 3 role.
November 30, 2008
Week 13 inactives: RB Ahmad Bradshaw, WR Plaxico Burress,, CB Sam Madison, K Lawrence Tynes, DE Jerome McDougle, DT Fred Robbins, OT Adam Koets, LB Jonathan Goff.

Our View:Brandon Jacobs is active and will be backed up Derrick Ward. Reuben Droughns should step up to the No. 3 role with Bradshaw out. John Carney will serve as the kicker and is a decent play despite the bad weather. The Robbins injury is a blow to the middle of the line and good news for Clinton Portis.
November 30, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw was sporting a neck brace Saturday, according to FOX Sports.

Our View:Bradshaw remains questionable for today's battle at Washington due to his sore neck. Bradshaw should not be counted on to play for larger leagues.
November 28, 2008
Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw is listed as questionable due to a sore neck, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Our View:He has not participated in practice this week, so it seems unlikely that he will play against the Redskins on Sunday.
November 28, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw has missed the last two practices with a stiff neck, according to Newsday.

Our View:If anything, that probably means the Giants will be a shade less cautious with Brandon Jacobs. Avoid playing Bradshaw this week.
November 15, 2008
The Giants plan on increasing Ahmad Bradshaw's workload as the season wears on, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:The idea is to help prevent Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward from burning out. Bradshaw is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and could be worth a look for the stretch run in deeper leagues.
October 20, 2008
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw has been dealing with a sore back, head coach Tom Coughlin tells the team's official web site.

Our View:Bradshaw has played through the injury, and he managed 28 yards on eight carries in Week 7. His health will only affect fantasy leagues if Brandon Jacobs or Derrick Ward gets hurt.
September 15, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw did not see any action in Week 1, but was more involved in Sunday's win over the Rams as he broke loose for 52 yards and a touchdown on five carries. He also hauled in one reception for 18 yards and another touchdown.

Our View:Brandon Jacobs carried the ball 15 times for 93 yards, and primary backup Derrick Ward rushed eight times for 58 yards. Bradshaw will remain a risky fantasy option as it is impossible to determine how much action he will see from week-to-week, but should still remain stashed on rosters in deeper leagues.
September 6, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw had zero carries in Thursday's opener against the Redskins, but it was not intentional and coach Tom Coughlin admitted that he didn't get the running back rotation set the way he wanted to, according to the NY Post.

Our View:Starter Brandon Jacobs rushed 21 times for 116 yards, and Derrick Ward broke loose for 39 yards on nine carries. Ward also hauled in two passes for 21 yards. The combination of Jacobs and Ward was very effective in the Giants' 16-7 win. Bradshaw could have more games as the odd man out, but Coughlin will likely make sure he sees some action in Week 2 against St. Louis.
September 5, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw did not play in the Giants' week one game against the Redskins due to a calf injury. His status for week two is still undecided and is officially listed as probable.
September 1, 2008
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw is currently third on the depth chart for the Giants, behind Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:Bradshaw is a favorite of many fantasy owners to have a breakout season - and he should still get some carries - but if he remains behind Ward, it will be difficult for him to contribute consistently enough to make much of a fantasy impact.

The NFL league office has announced New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw will not be suspended as a result of his recent parole violation resulting in 30 days of jail time, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Bradshaw recently served a 30-day jail sentence in Virginia for off-field issues that came before the start of his pro career. This is good news for fantasy owners seeking a worthy wager in the late rounds of your fantasy draft. There are few running backs that have displayed the burst Bradshaw put on the field during the Super Bowl last season, working against a strong New England defense. It is fair to expect a share of the workload that could grow if he shines.

Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw , who spent a month in jail this offseason for an undisclosed probation violation, has yet to reveal what he did to violate his probation and it now appears we may never know what he did to get back in trouble, according to the ProFootballTalk.com. The Bristol Herald Courier, a local newspaper that covers the area where Bradshaw served 28 days at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, sued to have Bradshaw’s records unsealed. However, a judge has ruled against the paper and said he will keep Bradshaw’s record confidential.

Our View:Bradshaw’s first offense was committed as a juvenile, thus it is understandable that juvenile records are sealed. However, we wonder what the reason could be for keeping his record sealed now that he’s serving time behind bars as an adult. Bradshaw has still not spoken publicly about his jail sentence, and neither he nor the Giants have explained what he did to violate his probation. Bradshaw reportedly received preferential treatment during his time in jail. He will not face league discipline, as the NFL ruled that he was not yet an NFL player at the time of his probation violation, whatever that violation was. Thus, for now, it appears the issue is no longer a concern. If that changes, we'll let you know.

Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw still has to face 30 more days in prison, and received perks during his first stay, according to the Bristol Herald Courier. Bradshaw reportedly gets to serve his sentence in two parts - with the NFL season in between - and also got extra meals and recreational time while doling out autographs.

Our View:This is not surprising, of course. Athletes and others of some fame get special treatment on a regular basis. The Giants did not have knowledge of this however, and there is still an investigation pending by the NFL.
July 14, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw has completed his 30-day jail sentence, the New York Daily News reports. The running back served time in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail due to a probation violation. The original crime occurred when Bradshaw was a minor, and there are no details about the violation, although various sources say it happened before Bradshaw joined the Giants. The NFL is reviewing the case.

Our View:The Giants knew that Bradshaw carried bad baggage, and they may have known about all of this stuff before they drafted him. Ahmad could face a fine or suspension by the NFL, but it shouldn't hurt his low fantasy stock too much.
June 21, 2008
The NFL is investigating whether Ahmad Bradshaw violated the personal conduct policy, according to the NY Daily News. Bradshaw is in Virginia serving a 30-day jail sentence for violating terms of a probation stemming from an undisclosed juvenile offense, a violation that, several sources indicate, took place prior to his being drafted last year.

Our View:His family, friends, and lawyer, have said Bradshaw has not committed a new crime to violate the probation, but the NFL is keeping an eye on the situation.
June 19, 2008
New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has been jailed in southwest Virginia since June 15 for an undisclosed probation violation, according to USA Today. Lt. Jeannie Patrick of the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail confirmed this morning that Bradshaw remains incarcerated.

Our View:Bradshaw, 22, was sentenced to two years of probation for misdemeanor petty larceny in 2006 while a student at Marshall University. He pleaded guilty to stealing a fellow student's Play Station video game from a dorm room. No other details were immediately available.
May 30, 2008
Giants' running back Ahmad Bradshaw emerged late in the season and added the lighting to the New York backfield thunder. He figures to affect the number of touches that starting tailback Brandon Jacobs receives this season.

Our View:Bradshaw showed that he was more than a third down option. His strength is his elusiveness, but the rookie also showed he could shed tacklers and run behind the bulk of the offensive line. At this point he is a deep league option that will provide owners 8-10 touches per game.
January 6, 2008
Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for a team-high 66 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's Wild Card win over Tampa Bay. He received most of his carries in the second half when Brandon Jacobs was suffering from some cramping. Bradshaw is clearly now No. 2 on the depth chart and would be the one to step in should something happen to Jacobs.
