Selvin Young still has a ways to go to establish himself as the No. 1 running back. But the team is pleased with his offseason commitment to getting stronger and his determination to disprove the perception he's an injury-prone, change-of-pace runner, according to the Sporting News.

Our View:From 2003-07, five different players have led the Broncos in rushing, so keep a close eye on this situation heading into training camp. The running back depth chart has been extremely fluid in the past, which means caution is in order when considering any Denver runner for your fantasy team.

The tailback competition for the Denver Broncos will be one of the more interesting in training camp, but Selvin Young could make it a moot point if he has a great showing, according to USA Today. Young became the starter when Travis Henry was released, and took every snap as the top tailback during the team's final offseason camp.

Our View:Young is defintely a "riser" in the fantasy world. Early in May, he was a mid-eighth round draft selection in 12-team mock drafts. Currently, he's being selected at the end of the fifth round, and a solid training camp performance would only increase his fantasy stock.

The Denver Broncos recent mini-camp practices concluded with Selvin Young as the starting tailback, and Andre Hall and Michael Pittman next in the pecking order, respectively, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Young is reportedly up to 212 pounds after adding some muscle during the offseason, and if the season started today he would be the starter. However, we are all aware of possible Shanahanigans down-the-road, meaning we aren’t convinced that the depth chart is set in concrete yet, and this situation could still evolve into a RBBC scenario. Stay tuned.

Selvin Young sits atop the Broncos depth chart at running back, and he has added necessary weight this offseason. "Some guys can't handle more than 10 carries a game, but Selvin can," head coach Mike Shanahan informs the Denver Post. "He's going to have to get himself in excellent shape, but I'd like to see him handle it and get it done. When you're averaging over 5 yards a carry, we'd be crazy to take him out." Young is up to 212 pounds and able to lift a lot more in the weight room. Shanahan did add these cautious words, "We've got first-, second- and third-teamers, but just because you're first team doesn't mean you're going to stay first team."

Our View:Fantasy owners all know how Shanahan operates, and it's way too early to think Young is clear of Travis Henry, Andre Hall, and Ryan Torain. We may, however, think about moving Selvin up our cheatsheets and dropping Henry a bit.

Selvin Young thinks he can rush for 2,000 yards this season, according to the Star-Telegram. Young said, "People call me crazy. I got a lot of laughs, too, but I really think it's in me. I feel comfortable. I've gotten adjusted to this altitude. With that alone, I should be able to take more snaps a game. And it seems like they want to do a lot more things with me."

Our View:The Broncos plan to use Young in more ways this season, but he won't necessarily get the ball more. Coach Mike Shanahan said earlier this off-season that he sees Young as a 10-to-15-touches-a-game back. Young should concentrate on reaching 1,000 yards first. He rushed for 729 yards over 140 attempts in 2007, with a solid 5.2 average.
