Ryne Robinson is still the leading candidate to handle Panthers punt and kick returns in 2009, according to Carolina Growl.

Our View:Robinson did a decent job returning in 2007, but missed all of 2008 with a knee injury. He's apparently 100 percent healthy now, though, and ready to resume his duties, unless one of a smattering of rookies wrests the job from him in training camp.

Ryne Robinson is a top candidate to replace Mark Jones on special teams as a return man, according to the Rock Hill Herald. Mark Jones departed for Tennessee.

Our View:Robinson flashed potential to be a gamebreaker as a rookie punt returner in 2007, but had several costly fumbles. He will be trying to bounce back from an MCL injury that forced him to miss the entire 2008 campaign.

Ryne Robinson has been placed on season-ending IR as he did not favorably recover from his MCL injury, according to the Gaston Gazette.

Our View:Robinson flashed some potential as a kick returner as a rookie in 2007, but would have held little to no fantasy value as a receiver this season.

Week 4 inactives: QB Matt Moore (3rd), WR Ryne Robinson, DB CJ Wilson, LB James Anderson, G Mackenzy Bernadeau, OT Frank Omiyale, WR Dwayne Jarrett, and DT Gary Gibson

Our View:Robinson (knee) thought he'd be ready this week, but apparently that's not the case. The Panthers are likely to stick with Jonathan Stewart and Mark Jones on kickoff and punt returns.

Ryne Robinson had his first full practice with the Panthers since injuring his knee two months ago, according to The Charlotte Observer. “I definitely feel ready and good to go,” he said. “Right now, working back into my game form is what we're trying to get to.”

Our View:Robinson doesn't figure to be much of an option in the passing attack, but he can be a weapon in the return game where Jonathan Stewart is returning kickoffs and Mark Jones punts in his absence.
