Dwayne Wright auditioned for the Rams Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:He is a tough and hard-working runner, and looked good during his brief stint with the Bills as a rookie in 2007, but his fantasy value would be limited as a reserve.

Dwayne Wright has been cut by the Bills, according to the Buffalo News. Cornerback Will James, linebacker Donnie Spragan, tight ends Courtney Anderson and Tim Massaquoi, linebackers Jon Banks, Marcus Buggs and Blake Costanzo, offensive linemen Dustin Dickinson, Patrick Estes, Nevin McCaskill, Christian Gaddis and Robert Felton, defensive linemen Jason Jefferson, Derrick Jones, Corey Mace and Teraz McCray, receivers Felton Huggins and Scott Mayle, running backs Bruce Hall and Jonathan Evans, and cornerback Dustin Fox were all cut loose as well.

Our View:Sixth-round rookie running back Xavier Omon survived the cut, at the expense of Wright.

Dwayne Wright didn't have the big game he was looking for on Thursday night as he carried the ball eight times for 11 yards. He also fumbled once.

Our View:Rookie Xavier Omon was only slightly better rushing 12 times for 32 yards. Neither back was very impressive, though neither is expected to offer much this season anyway unless the club is beset by injuries.

Dwayne Wright will need a solid effort in the Bills next preseason game if he hopes to hold onto the RB3 spot on the Bills squad, according to the Bill Official Website.

Our View:Rookie Xavier Omon has looked good in the early going but Wright still figures to serve as the third option behind Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson in Buffalo.

At the running back position in Buffalo it appears there's a budding competition for the third tailback role between Dwayne Wright and rookie Xavier Omon, according to BuffaloBills.com. The two running backs appear to be getting close to the same number of snaps during each practice in recent organized team activities.

Our View:Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson are entrenched on the top two rungs of the depth chart. Omon, a Division II phenom, has excellent vision and is a good receiver out of the backfield.
