David Clowney (broken collar bone) has resumed practicing on a limited basis according to the Newark Star-Ledger. "With his type of injury, it's not just the the running around and cutting, but it's also getting more involved in contact," coach Eric Mangini said. "Making sure that everything is where it needs to be in terms of the healing process. So I think he's making strides. But we're going to go through the full amount of time to make sure that it's where he needs to be."

Our View:Clowney could add a legitimate deep threat with his speed, however Brett Favre has targeted Jerricho Cotchery and Coles nearly 75 percent of the time in recent games.

David Clowney is making favorable progress in his recovery from a broken collarbone, but is still wearing a red no-contact jersey in practice, and is not likely to be ready for Sunday's battle against Cincinnati, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:It is encouraging that he is practicing on a limited basis, but is not yet to get hit and contribute. When he does return, he could push Brad Miller for playing time.

David Clowney returned to practice after breaking his collarbone in the preseason, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:He was the Jets' leading receiver in the preseason and showed solid ability to stretch the field. He is worth a look as a flier in case he pushes Brad Miller for playing time.

David Clowney has sustained a shoulder injury and not a broken collarbone as was previously reported, according to the NY Post. Either way, coach Eric Mangini said the young receiver "will be out for a while."

Our View:Clowney was enjoying a strong preseason, and looked as if he could serve as a solid weapon alongside Jerricho Cotchery and Laveranues Coles. Clowney is not worth drafting, but could emerge as a favorable waiver wire target during the season.

The Jets confirmed on Tuesday that David Clowney will miss "some significant time" due to his collarbone injury, the New York Daily News reports.

Our View:The Jets needed someone to step up alongside Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery, and Clowney was turning into that guy. It's bad timing for the young wideout.
