Antonio Pittman will miss the next 4-6 weeks due to a cracked fibula, according to the Associated Press. “It wasn’t a contact thing,” HC Scott Linehan said. “It looked like he just twisted it."

Our View:With Pittman down, Travis Minor would appear to be the top handcuff option to Steven Jackson, though Brian Leonard could also be in the mix if he can get healthy (rumors are that the reason he hasn't been seeing any game action is that he has some issue with his shoulders).

Antonio Pittman sprained his lower left leg during Sunday's loss to Seattle, according to the News Tribune. He was unable to return.

Our View:Pittman's status is yet to updated. Travis Minor would likely serve as the primary backup to starter Steven Jackson if Pittman is forced to miss time.
August 17, 2008
Antonio Pittman had a strong outing against the Chargers, as he rushed nine times for 67 yards, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He had runs of 14,15, and 18 yards, all on one drive. He also caught one pass for six yards.

Our View:Pittman would be the Week 1 starter if Steven Jackson continues his holdout.

With Steven Jackson AWOL from camp, Antonio Pittman is working with the first-team at running back, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:He should benefit from the extended reps in his bid to nail down the top backup job behind Jackson, potentially making him worthy of a "handcuff" if he fares well in camp.

Antonio Pittman is among the most improved Rams of the off-season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:He was at a disadvantage with the Rams last season, as he had to learn the offense after being claimed off waivers from the Saints. He did end the season as Steven Jackson's primary backup, and could be worth consideration as a possible "handcuff" for Jackson in 2008.
