Kenny Irons has been waived by the Bengals, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The team made the move after he failed a team physical.

Our View:Irons once had potential to serve as a solid backup to Rudi Johnson, but an ACL injury spoiled his chances.
July 17, 2008
Bengals.com reports that Kenny Irons has no idea when he's going to be able to do that again after Dr. James Andrews performed reconstructive knee surgery 11 months ago in Birmingham, Ala.

Our View:Even if Irons is completely healthy come Week 1 he does not figure to be much of a fantasy factor in the upcoming season.
May 14, 2008
The Dayton Daily News confirms that Kenny Irons is likely to begin the 2008 season on the PUP list. He tore the ACL in his left knee on August 9, 2007.

Our View:That's a little surprising considering many players come back soon than that from a torn ACL. Anyway, Irons could come back in the second half of the season, but fantasy owners obviously shouldn't count on anything out of him.
April 15, 2008
Kenny Irons, who is rehabbing from reconstructive surgery on his left knee, is said to be closer to the PUP list than training camp, according to Bengals.com. He won't be able to get on the field in May or June.

Our View:Irons could make a favorable impact as a change-of-pace back to Rudi Johnson, but he was limited to no carries in his rookie season, and will be set back heading into 2008.
April 1, 2008
Head coach Marvin Lewis said running back Kenny Irons won't be available for the May and June camps, according to CincinnatiBengals.com. Irons, who missed the entire 2007 season, is currently rehabbing from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. The surgery occurred in August, so there is a chance he could be ready for training camp. Stay tuned.
