September 4, 2007 Mike Bell confirmed on Monday that he's now concentrating on being a fullback. "I'm just sucking it up and trying to make the best of it," Bell tells the Denver Post. "Now, it's my job to win the fullback job." Head coach Mike Shanahan adds, "I think Mike can be a Pro Bowl fullback. I really do. He can be a special player there." |

A few teams have inquired about Bell, but the Broncos want him to split time with Cecil Sapp as the No. 1 fullback and provide depth at running back. August 14, 2007 Mike Bell and Cecil Sapp continued their battle for the No. 2 spot on Monday. Bell rushed for 51 yards on 10 carries, and Sapp chipped in 50 yards on 11 attempts. "I'm way more patient than I was last year," Bell tells the Rocky Mountain News. "I'm pressing the plays. Travis (Henry) has helped me a lot, just the way he runs. And just recognizing fronts and defenses and blitzes, it's second nature to me now where the game's slowed down a lot." |
