The Jets have placed a second-round tender on Brad Smith, according to Rich Cimini's (NY Daily News) twitter page.

Our View:Smith did little as a receiver in 2009, but helped out on kick returns and racked up 207 rushing yards and a touchdown on only 18 carries. He also notched 20 tackles on special teams coverage, and was worth tendering for New York.

Brad Smith is expected to get a tender offer from the Jets, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Smith does not do much as a receiver, but was a valuable jack-of-all-trades for New York in 2009, as he made 20 tackles on special teams, nearly reached 100 rushing yards in one game versus the Bengals in the regular season finale, and returned a kickoff 106 yards versus the Colts in Week 16.

Brad Smith suffered a head and shoulder injury in Sunday's game against the Bengals and is questionable to return.

Our View:Smith had three rushes for 91 yards and a touchdown before exiting with the injury and the Jets will be in trouble if they have to enter the playoffs without their explosive wildcat weapon. Updates to come.
