Antonio Cromartie has been dealt from the Chargers to the Jets in exchange for a 2011 third-round pick that could turn to a second, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:Cromartie should be a nice addition for the Jets, who wanted to upgrade their secondary in the offseason. Teams should throw to his side of the field more often, with the elite Darrelle Revis roaming on the opposite side.

The Lions reportedly remain in the mix to acquire Antonio Cromartie from the Chargers, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View:It is believed that the Chargers would want Maurice Morris in exchange, which would help fill their void at running back. Also, the Jets are not serious contenders to deal for Cromartie.

Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network states that the Jets are "very interested" in acquiring Antonio Cromartie from the Chargers, as posted on Greg Rosenthal's twitter page.

Our View:This contradicts previous reports circulating that New York is not really interested in Cromartie. The Jets previously stated that it is a priority to upgrade their secondary in the offseason.

According to Rich Cimini on Twitter, there were rumors that the Jets were interested in cornerback Antonio Cromartie, but they are fabrications.

Our View:Cimini's sources say that the Chargers don't want Cromartie to land anywhere in the AFC, so any futures rumors should be read with that in mind. San Diego is really pushing to unload Cromartie, but at this point their asking price seems too high. They may have to lower it quickly if they want him out.

A league source stated that the Lions are "highly unlikely" to acquire Antonio Cromartie from the Chargers, according to MLive.com.

Our View:The two clubs reportedly talked, but the Lions decided to move in a different direction. This contradicts previous speculation stating that Cromartie could land in Detroit very soon.

According to Kevin Acee on Twitter, Antonio Cromartie could be a Detroit Lion very soon.

Our View:This is far from a done deal, but it does appear that Cromartie's days as a Charger are numbered. San Diego was looking for a running back in return, but the Lions don't have much to offer so they'll likely give up a mid-round draft pick instead. In Detroit Cromartie would likely be used mostly in press coverage.

Antonio Cromartie is reportedly telling his San Diego teammates that he expects to get traded, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Cromartie is only signed through 2010, and may have hurt his stock with a merely average 2009 campaign. The Chargers would like to receive a running back in a swap, with LaDainian Tomlinson gone and Darren Sproles likely soon to follow.
February 19, 2010
Lee Pasquarelli of ESPN believes that Antonio Cromartie could be shipped to an AFC East team in exchange for a running back.

Our View:Marshawn Lynch (Bills), Thomas Jones (Jets) and Laurence Maroney (Patriots) are among the AFC East running backs that San Diego could try to acquire in a trade for Cromartie. Consider this speculation for now though.

Tampa Bay appears to be a potential landing spot for Antonio Cromartie, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:With LaDainian Tomlinson on his way out and Darren Sproles facing free agency, the Chargers have put the talented-yet-inconsistent Cromartie on the market for a running back. The Buccaneers, meanwhile, have a trio of serviceable backs in Cadillac Williams, Derrick Ward and Earnest Graham and could use another corner, so look for the two sides to discuss a deal.
February 16, 2010
The Chargers would like to trade cornerback Antonio Cromartie in hopes of upgrading at running back, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

Our View:Aging vet LaDainian Tomlinson is all but done with the team, and Darren Sproles is facing free agency. Running back is clearly San Diego's top area of need.
