NFL.com reports that Jerious Norwood (ribs) is questionable for Week 12.

Our View:He practiced all week, so we expect him to go. Norwood is averaging 5.6 yards per carry and 10.3 yards per catch. However, he has totaled just 93 touches on while backing up Michael Turner.
November 9, 2008
Jerious Norwood posted six carries for 17 yards, along with two receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 win over New Orleans.

Our View:Norwood, who has compiled 198 yards and two touchdowns in the last two games, is a serviceable flex option in PPR leagues, especially during favorable matchups.

The Falcons would like to get Jerious Norwood more involved in the offense, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Coach Mike Smith said, "Jerious is a very gifted athlete. He can do a number of things. He’s very multi-faceted. He’s an integral part of our football team. It’s not a surprise that he’s had the success that he’s had. When you give him opportunities to get touches he’s made the most of them."

Our View:He was more involved in Week 9 as he rushed 13 times for 63 yards. He is averaging six yards per carry as the primary backup to Michael Turner, and could be worth employing as a flex option Sunday against a soft Saints' defense, assuming he sees a favorable workload.
November 2, 2008
Jerious Norwood rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries on Sunday.

Our View:Norwood's not a great fantasy option, but could become more valuable is Turner goes down.

QB D.J. Shockley (3rd), FS Thomas DeCoud, CB David Irons, LB Tony Gilbert, C Alex Stepanovich, T Sam Baker, DE Simon Fraser, and WR Adam Jennings are all inactive for the Falcons.

Our View:Jerious Norwood has been dealing with a concussion, but is active and will backup Michael Turner in a favorable match-up against Oakland.
October 31, 2008
Jerious Norwood is listed as questionable on the injury report. He is recovering from a concussion.

Our View:Norwood will see a lesser role this week, if he sees a role at all. He has averaged 6.3 yards per carry as Michael Turner's backup this season.

During Week 3 the Dolphins turned some heads in the way they used Ronnie Brown in the shotgun. The NFL is known as the "copy cat" league and that is exactly what might happen this week. The Falcons are going to use Jerious Norwood in the same type of capacity. Norwood told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that they have imployed some of the same formations.

Our View:Even though the Falcons are going to try and use some direct snaps to Norwood, don't expect the same type of production the Dolphins got from Brown. Norwood is good insurance for owners who own Michael Turner but is not really worth a starting spot.
September 21, 2008
Jerious Norwood had 11 carries for 75 yards in the Falcons Week 3 victory over Kansas City.

Our View:Norwood also chipped in one reception for 30 yards and had a 44-yard run. He represents an excellent handcuff for Turner owners, and given his explosiveness, is a serviceable flex option against weaker opponents.
September 11, 2008
Not only did Jerious Norwood have a good Week 1 rushing with over 90 yards, he excelled on special teams. Norwood made two special teams tackles and had a 33 yard kickoff return, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:With Norwood's ever expanding role in the Falcons offense, some are wondering if Norwood should be on special teams. It looks like Norwood is going to be the lighting to Michael Turner's thunder this year in the Atlanta ground attack.
September 7, 2008
The Falcons ran the ball so well against Detroit, that there was plenty of leftovers for Jerious Norwood, who compiled 93 rushing yards on 14 carries, including a 10-yard score.

Our View:Norwood also notched two receptions for six yards, and it appears he will provide the lightning to Michael Turner's thunder in the Atlanta ground attack.

Michael Turner is going to handle the bulk of the workload at running back, but Jerious Norwood hopes that his role will develop into a situational third-down back, who will also show up as a wide receiver in some four- and five-receiver sets, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Norwood said, "Right now, I really don’t know my role. I’m just going to go out and take it easy, and wherever the coach wants to use me, I’ll be willing to do whatever it is they want me to do." He added, "We have a couple of formations where they’ll split me out wide and let me do my thing out wide. I feel that’s one of my greatest assets, going one-on-one in the open field."

Our View:Norwood is an essential "handcuff" for Turner, and could hold favorable value in PPR leagues as a backup. Norwood could also become more of a factor later in the season if Turner wears down in his first campaign as a starter.
August 22, 2008
Jerious Norwood showed some of his explosiveness in his team's victory over the Titans, rushing just four times, but accumulating 53 yards.

Our View:Norwood will be the backup to Michael Turner, but should see his fair share of carries as well. If he continues to perform like this, how can the Falcons ignore him?
August 6, 2008
While the addition of Michael Turner has most fantasy owners looking at the former Charger as the rusher of choice in Atlanta, reports from camp indicate new coach Mike Smith is looking to give more opportunity to Jerious Norwood , according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:Norwood has averaged 6.2 yards per carry but has just 202 combined carries over the past two years. However, the Falcons gave Michael Turner $35 million earlier this offseason to be the primary back, but with the addition of rookie quarterback Matt Ryan and his potential rise to the starting job, the Falcons want to be prepared by offering both rushers in various packages seeking to take focus off the pass. We will see if it comes true as fantasy owners have yearned for Norwood to get more carries. He clearly has the game to play. Now the Falcons may final give him that opportunity.

The Falcons are giving rusher Jerious Norwood a look as a potential target of choice on punt returns, according to AtlantaFalcons.com.

Our View:Adam Jennings is the man listed at the top of the special teams depth chart for this job but he has little value in other capacities and seems to be resting on the bubble for a roster spot. Getting Norwood in that role would allow them to make such a move without missing a beat.

Jerious Norwood hasn't seen enough touches the past few years, and as a result the Falcons are considering splitting him out wide at the receiver position, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "He's a guy that can cause all kinds of problems for defensive coordinators," said Falcons coach Mike Smith. "Not strictly because of his speed but because of the potential matchup problems he can create. Jerious is a special athlete that can do a number of different things."

Our View:Norwood possesses blazing speed and the key is to just get him the ball and watch him go. We are all for this idea, though it remains to be seen just how often he will be deployed in this manner once the games start.
