According to the St.Paul Pioneer-Press, Tarvaris Jackson is expected to be named the backup quarterback again this week. Jackson backed up Brett Favre in Week 1 and played in four snaps.

Our View:Coach Brad Childress has said that he will evaluate the backup job every week depending on what he sees ar practice, so Jackson must be looking good. Either that or Childress is sticking with Jackson as the backup because Jackson is his guy and Sage Rosenfels isn't. Either way, neither will play unless something happens to the Iron Man Brett Favre.

The St. Paul Pioneer-Press is reporting that Tarvaris Jackson, not Sage Rosenfels, will be the backup to Brett Favre this weekend. Coach Brad Childress said that the backup could change from week to week.

Our View:Jackson looks like he will get the nod if anything should happen to Golden Brett, but obviously this doesn't mean he has any fantasy value. Rosenfels is still the more reliable option for the Vikes, so we will have to see who actually plays if Favre would go down.

The Vikings are again trying to trade reserve quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:The team briefly considered going with four quarterbacks on its roster, but has now decided not to. No possible destinations are yet known.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Vikings are willing to part with Tarvaris Jackson for a late-round pick.

Our View:With Favre on board the Vikes don't need Jackson, and Sage Rosenfels is perfectly capable of being a backup. John David Booty has the potential to be the QB of the future and there is no reason to carry four quarterbacks. If a deal doesn't get done, Jackson would likely be released.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, there is still a "faction" of players in the Vikings' locker room who want to see Tarvaris Jackson as the team's starting quarterback. These players look at Brett Favre as an "old guy" with talents inferior to Jackson's.

Our View:Brett Favre may be an old guy, but what has Jackson ever done to make anyone thing his talents are greater than Favre's? This dissension could come to the surface if the Vikings struggle early in the season, and it won't be pretty in Minny if that happens.
