Maurice Jones-Drew was back at practice Thursday and is still considered probable for Week 17's game at Kansas City. There's no reason not to keep rolling with this guy, even with Fred Taylor set to play this week as well.

Maurice Jones-Drew missed portions of Wednesday's practice, according to the Florida Times-Union. He has a mild knee injury but is expected to play this weekend.

With Fred Taylor out Sunday, Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 19 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns. The rookie also caught six balls for another 41 yards. It's not clear yet whether Taylor will be able to play next week versus the Chiefs.

"The news I got was that he was feeling better than anticipated today and we expect to have him this week," Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said. Jones-Drew could get the start if Fred Taylor is out with his hamstring injury.

Maurice Jones-Drew limped off the field late in yesterday's game and was seen going into the X-ray room later on, according to the Florida Times-Union. "I think they want to make sure," Jags coach Jack Del Rio said. "I'm not even sure what they are X-raying. I don't have any information on that right now." Jones-Drew was on the injury report before the game with a calf injury, and it wasn't clear if he aggravated that injury or sustained something new.

Maurice Jones-Drew carried the load for the Jaguars on Sunday after Fred Taylor aggravated his hamstring injury. Jones-Drew carried 25 times for 98 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 47 yards.

As for Fred Taylor (questionable, hamstring), he was able to practice with the team Thursday, and is also expected to play Sunday.

Maurice Jones-Drew went off versus the Colts Sunday, running for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Jones-Drew also caught a 15-yard pass and ran a kickoff back for a TD. His 303 all-purpose yards set a Jacksonville team record.

Maurice Jones-Drew had another impressive night Monday as the Jaguars No. 2 back, picking up 61 total yards and a score on 11 touches. Jones-Drew averaged five yards a carry on his nine rushes, compared to a 3.3 average for starter Fred Taylor (24 carries, 79 yards, one TD).

Maurice Jones-Drew carried the ball 21 times, six more than starter Fred Taylor, on Sunday against the Eagles. Jones-Drew wasn't nearly as effective as Taylor, however, as he gained just 77 yards. Taylor had 103 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. It's not clear why Jones-Drew got more work, though Taylor did remain on the sideline for a span after falling on the football.

Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in the Jaguars' blowout win over the Jets on Sunday. Jones-Drew had two of the Jags' first three touchdowns, and he was definitely playing a complementary role to Fred Taylor. Jones-Drew is getting enough work in the Jacksonville offense that he can reasonably be started as a flex player in good matchups.
