Kellen Clemens made it through the week without any apparent setbacks. He should start Sunday against the Chiefs, according to the New York Daily News. Clemens was unable to suit up last week due to his rib and shoulder injuries, but he's going to give it a try in the finale.
December 28, 2007
The Jets have listed Kellen Clemens as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs due to the rib injury that kept him off of the field last week. Chad Pennington would get his second consecutive start, which could be his last in a Jets uniform, if Clemens is unable to go.

Kellen Clemens (ribs, shoulder) is improving and may be able to start against the Chiefs in Week 17, the New York Daily News reports. Chad Pennington took his place in Week 16.

Kellen Clemens is listed as active for the Jets' Week 16 matchup with the Titans, but Chad Pennington is listed as the starter. You don't want either player in your fantasy lineup this week against a good Titans defense.

Kellen Clemens (ribs/shoulder) had another limited day Thursday and appears very unlikely to start Sunday at Tennessee. Look for Chad Pennington to get the call.

Eric Mangini shed a little light on his quarterback situation on Wednesday, indicating that Kellen Clemens is the team's starting quarterback when healthy. However, according to Newsday, Clemens is unlikely to play on Sunday as he continues to nurse what is being described as a rib injury. He was officially listed as a limited participant at practice, but Newsday reports that he threw just a couple of soft warm-up passes and that he had very limited mobility. "Whether or not I play will be based on the evaluation of coach Mangini and the doctors," he said.

It's believed that the rib injury Kellen Clemens sustained Sunday is a fracture. X-rays taken at the stadium where inconclusive, so he'll undergo an MRI Monday to determine the exact nature of the injury, according to the New York Daily News. Clemens sustained the injury in the first quarter and did not return. If Clemens indeed has a cracked rib, Chad Pennington likely would start for the Jets in Week 16.

Kellen Clemens was knocked out of Sunday's game after he was slammed into the ground during the first quarter. He sustained a rib injury and did not return to the game. Although former college quarterback Brad Smith came in for a couple of plays, it was Chad Pennington who ran the offense for the rest of the game. We should know more about the status of Clemens, whose lone pass was intercepted for a touchdown, for Week 16 on Monday.

At 1-7, the Jets have finally decided it's time to look to the future. On Monday, coach Eric Mangini named Kellen Clemens the team's starting quarterback, sending veteran Chad Pennington to the bench. "I made this decision not based on singling out Chad for where we are, but based on the fact that I think Kellen has earned this opportunity," Mangini said in the AP. "I want to give him this opportunity. It's in no way an indication that Chad is solely responsible. We all are." Clemens' first start will come this weekend against the Redskins.

Kellen Clemens was solid in his first NFL start Sunday. Playing against the tough Baltimore defense, Clemens completed 19-of-37 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown. He was picked off twice, but one of the interceptions came on a pass that bounced off Justin McCareins' hands and was nabbed by the Ravens' Ray Lewis.

Chad Pennington didn't even throw at practice on Wednesday and reports have surfaced that Kellen Clemens will indeed get his first NFL start on Sunday against the Ravens. A person familiar with the situation told Newsday on Wednesday that the Jets will make no official announcement, but Clemens will get the start in Baltimore.

Kellen Clemens put together an eye-opening performance during the Jets preseason opener on Friday, completing 16-of-22 passes for 174 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in just over two quarters of work. "He's accessing the defense, being able to check us in and out of plays," head coach Eric Mangini told the Newark Star-Ledger. "He hung in the pocket. You're seeing some of that growth. He works hard. He did some good things last year. It just wasn't apparent because he wasn't in the game."

Kellen Clemens had a very good day during a simulated game on Sunday. He completed 14-of-18 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns while leading the White team on three touchdown drives, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
