Joe Klopfenstein has a torn ligament in his wrist, an injury he has been playing with and will likely continue to play with moving forward thanks to the aide of a brace or cast, according to Belleville News Democrat.

Our View:With Randy McMichael already out, Klopfenstein is the only tight end on the roster with a modicum of offensive upside so the team clearly needs him to battle through this though just how successful he can be with some type of device on his wrist is debatable.

Joe Klopfenstein will be the starter at tight end for the Rams while Randy McMichael recovers from a broken leg, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View:Klopfenstein, a former second-round pick who is often referred to as Flopfenstein by those following the team, has no fantasy value, even as the starter. Despite offensive coordinator Al Saunders' use of the tight end in other places, Flop ... er, Klopfenstein does not have the necessary tools to make much of an impact.

Joe Klopfenstein has been hospitalized Sunday night after experiencing an adverse reaction to antibiotics administered to treat a knee infection, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Coach Scott Linehan said, "He had to spend the night in the hospital just as a precaution and to get him on some new medication. It wasn't anything serious."

Our View:Klopfenstein was released from the hospital Monday but wasn't at practice. He will hold little to no fantasy value this season as long as Randy McMichael stays intact.

Joe Klopfenstein recovered from his lower-back problem and went on to have his best training camp with the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He is excited about new offensive coordinator Al Saunders' aggressive approach, and said, "I love the playbook. So there's plenty of room for Randy McMichael and me and Anthony Becht and whoever else. There's a lot of things that need to be done at the tight end position, and there's going to be more than one person doing them."

Our View:Klopfenstein could be worthy of a waiver wire pick-up if Randy McMichael gets hurt this season.

Joe Klopfenstein missed Thursday's OTA due to a back injury, this according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Klopfenstein has little value as second fiddle to Randy McMichael.
