Player Notes
November 21, 2008
LenDale White fully practiced Friday, according to the Tennessean. He had been dealing with a calf ailment.

Our View:White will play in Week 12, but has a tough match-up against the Jets' fourth ranked run defense.
November 19, 2008
LenDale White did not practice on Wednesday, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:White's been very valuable this season, scoring 11 rushing touchdowns. We'll keep you posted on his status.
November 18, 2008
LenDale White was been placed on probation after pleading guilty to a disturbing the peace charge stemming from an incident in March, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:Since this incident is old news, it's unlikely that White will be suspended by the NFL. We'll keep you updated on him though.
November 16, 2008
LenDale White had another tough go of it Sunday, managing just 52 yards on 14 carries (3.7 YPC) in the win over Jacksonville.

Our View:White salvaged his day last week with a score, but his owners weren't as lucky this time around.
November 9, 2008
Running back LenDale White rushed 10 times for 14 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 win over the Bears.

Our View:White could have had a second touchdown if Jeff Fisher didn't get cute earlier in the game. Still, fantasy owners have to be pleased that the portly fellow found he end zone once again. It's hard to believe LenDale is on pace for 19-20 scores.
October 27, 2008
LenDale White carried the ball only 10 times for 13 yards but he saved his night by scoring two touchdowns for the Titans in their 31-21 victory over the Colts to remain undefeated at 7-0.

Our View:One of the scores was on a stretch at the goaline as the ball just barely broke the plane. White's carry totals continue to be slightly depressed, but his value remains exceedingly high given the fact that he seems to visit the end zone almost every game (he has 10 scores in seven games).
October 19, 2008
Running back LenDale White lugged the ball 17 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 7 beat down of the Chiefs.

Our View:In the previous two games, White had managed only 14 carries for 17 yards, and many fantasy managers might have dumped him. If LenDale is available, make sure you snatch him up off the wire this week, as he has scored in six of seven games this season and the Titans feature a run-heavy offensive scheme.
October 8, 2008
LenDale White blames his ailing shoulder for his minimal workload last weekend against Baltimore, according to the Nashville City Paper. He was limited to three carries and said, "I was injured. I’m pretty sure my shoulder was down on the injury report. I didn’t practice for a couple of days at the first of the week."

Our View:The Titans have a bye in Week 6 to give him more time to heal. Rookie Chris Johnson has fared better among the two backs, but coach Jeff Fisher stated that White will remain active and involved in the offense. White leads the team with five touchdowns, all scored on the ground.
October 4, 2008
LenDale White returned to practice Friday after missing the previous two days with a shoulder injury. He is listed as probable for this weekend.

Our View:White's shoulder was a little dinged up before last week's game against the Vikings, as well, so we fully expect him to play.
October 2, 2008
LenDale White missed practice for the second straight day Thursday due to a shoulder ailment, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Rookie Chris Johnson could handle a full workout in Week 5 with White uncertain to play, but the Titans have a tough match-up against the Ravens on their home turf.
October 2, 2008
Ravens linebacker Bart Scott may have given Titans running back LenDale White some motivation for when they play on Sunday, as Scott discussed the differences between White and Tennessee rookie runner Chris Johnson, according to the Baltimore Sun. "Let's see: a fat guy and the fastest guy in the 40. Not fat. I'm sorry. Plump," Scott remarked.

Our View:Humorous as the line is, White's "plumpness" certainly helps him near the goal-line. White has rushed for five touchdowns this season, whereas Johnson has just two. Neither player is an especially good start against the Ravens tenacious run defense, though White doesn't usually churn out yards anyway.
September 28, 2008
Running back LenDale White carried the ball 11 times for 13 yards and one touchdown in the Week 4 win over Minnesota.

Our View:That is one ugly statistical line, but White has scored at least one touchdown every week this season, for a total of 5 scores in 2008.
September 26, 2008
LenDale White has been limited in practice due to a shoulder ailment, but coach Jeff Fisher indicated he will play this weekend against the Vikings, according to Scout.com.

Our View:The Vikings field a solid run defense, but White should be penciled into fantasy lineups as he already scored four touchdowns over the first three weeks of the season.
September 25, 2008
During Thursday's practice LenDale White was limited in practice due to an injured shoulder, according to the Pioneer Press..

Our View:White has reached the end zone four times already this year and has gotten all of the short-yardage carries. White and Chris Johnson have been very productive as a tandem and both have their own fantasy value.
September 21, 2008
LenDale White rushed 16 times for 49 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 3 win over the Texans. He has found the end zone in each of the Titans three games this year.

Our View:White and Chris Johnson continue to be quite the productive tandem, and LenDale has been getting all the short-yardage work at the stripe. Fantasy owners should have a pretty clear idea of how to use these two backs.
September 14, 2008
LenDale White, who split the carries equally with Chris Johnson on Sunday, compiled 18 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Our View:White has scored a touchdown in each of the first two weeks of the 2008 campaign.
September 7, 2008
LenDale White did not start in the season opener, but he did rush 15 times for 40 yards and score a one-yard touchdown.

Our View:White capped off a scoring drive in which both Chris Johnson and Vince Young suffered injuries. We're not certain that LenDale would have been called upon for that one-yard plunge under different circumstances. If Johnson's injury is minor, White's fantasy value will go down after today.
August 15, 2008
LenDale White had a solid showing Friday, collecting 39 yards on eight carries while adding a one-yard catch.

Our View:White was shown up again by rookie Chris Johnson, however, we still expect the cream puff to garner at least half the carries and most of the goal-line touches this year.
August 6, 2008
Titans running back LenDale White was held out of practice today with tightness in his lower back, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:There is little reason for concern, though it should be noted that White would be wise not to fall back into old habits. After being drafted out of USC, White took it easy, added way too much weight on the buffet circuit, and found himself as one of the most concerning performers of his draft class despite high expectation. Last season he got back on track, hitting the weights and getting back in shape to become the Titans' top choice for rushing tasks. This year his job is once again being challenged, this time by top rookie Chris Johnson. If he struggles and lets minor pain and injury keep him off the field, he'll fall once more.
June 6, 2008
LenDale White took part in recent organized activies, and Rototimes sources report that his conditioning was again in question.

Our View:In the big back's defense, he had January knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. That in itself will slow any player down. White has competition for touches this season. Chris Johnson, and Chris Henry are expected to challenge White this summer.
June 3, 2008
LenDale White has been given a July 29 court date, according to the Tennessean. He is facing charges of interference, resistance, refusal of an officer and destruction of property, but none holds a worse penalty than a fine.

Our View:The Titans begin training camp July 25. Hopefully White will stay out of trouble following his court date.
May 13, 2008
LenDale White is doing quite well in his recovery from off-season knee surgery, according to NFL.com. Turns out he needed surgery because he had a torn meniscus, a fact not previously reported. "This happened last year in preseason. I tore my meniscus," White said. "I played on it all season. Contrary to what people believe, I am a soldier. I played on it all year and I didn't complain, not once. I waited until the season was over to get it fixed and now I'm feeling good."

Our View:Does this explain White's struggles last season? Well, it's a nice crutch to fall back. White was productive last season rushing for over 1,100 yards, so perhaps a healthy knee will allow him to put up even bigger numbers this year despite the infusion of talent the team brought in with first round pick Chris Johnson.
May 9, 2008
LenDale White is still working his way back from arthroscopic knee surgery and will be limited at the team's minicamp practices over the next week, according to the Tennessean. White said he's been "rehabbing like crazy'' and the decision to hold him back during minicamp practices was made more for precautionary reasons. "We're just taking our time,'' he said. "I am feeling good. We just don't want to blow it out.''

Our View:White will continue to be the thunder in the running game that was so successful last year, while rookie first round draft pick Chris Johnson will add some lightning to the mix. Johnson will line up in the backfield on some plays, and split out as a receiver on others.
May 2, 2008
LenDale White, who was issued a citation in Denver in March, had the case continued to June 2, according to the Tennessean. Denver police issued White a citation in March on charges of destruction of property and disobedience to a lawful order/ interference and resistance. White’s lawyer appeared on his behalf in court, when the case was continued.

Our View:White has been participating in the Titans offseason program. This incident isn't expected to impact his 2008 season.
April 8, 2008
LenDale White has joined the Titans' workouts after previously being AWOL when the team's offseason program started March 23, according to the Nashville City Paper. White racked up 1108 rushing yards in 2008 and is expected to be the Titans' starter this season, but the team is also reportedly going to pursue a speedy third-down back, possibly in the draft.
April 4, 2008
Titans running back LenDale White has been assigned a May 1 court date for a citation he received last month in Denver, according to the Tennessean. White was cited for "interference, resistance, destruction of private property, refused order of officer and destruction of private property'' following the alleged incident on March 15 in downtown Denver. White's uncle, Herman White, who witnessed some of the alleged incident, recently said it "is nowhere near what is being portrayed.'' Denver police have not commented.
March 27, 2008
When it comes to the Tennessee Titans’ running backs, head coach Jeff Fisher is upbeat about the players he's got and about the players that might be added, according to the Tennessean. The Titans need a third back after parting ways with veteran Chris Brown, and would like to find an explosive player in the draft to complement the power running attack. "We've got a guy going into his second year, a guy going into his third year… then if you had a rookie you'd have a good mix" said Fisher. The Titans would like the added back to bring speed, and are likely to find quality candidates when they go on the clock including Jamaal Charles, Felix Jones, Chris Johnson and Jonathan Stewart, who would all bring speed and explosiveness to the mix.
March 26, 2008
LenDale White has not reported to the Tennessee Titans offseason program, according to the Tennessean. White has had a busy offseason thus far, undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee and being cited with destruction of property, disobedience to a lawful order and interference and resisting in his hometown of Denver. White looked like he was turning the corner last year, but now it appears his lack of maturity is rearing its ugly head again. The Titans' offseason program is not mandatory, but players generally let the team know their plans or whereabouts. Phone messages left with the agent for White have not been returned.
March 19, 2008
Denver police have unfairly portrayed running back LenDale White's alleged involvement in an incident there last weekend, his uncle said, according to the Tennessean. Herman White, who lives in Denver, said he witnessed part of the alleged incident: "If he was resisting arrest, there is no one in the world who is going to get a ticket for that and not go to jail.'' White, who was not arrested, received a citation and has a court date to answer charges of destruction of property and disobedience to a lawful order/interference and resistance.
March 16, 2008
LenDale White has reportedly been arrested in Denver on Saturday, according to 9News.com. White was ”cited” in Denver on Saturday on several charges — destruction of property, disobedience to a lawful order, and interference and resisting. The former USC tailback reportedly had arthroscopic knee surgery earlier in the off-season and hails from the Denver area. Thus far additional details have not been provided, but we'll bring them to you as soon as we get 'em.
March 11, 2008
New Tennessee running backs coach Earnest Byner is enamored with running back LenDale White, according to the Tennessean. Byner said he's impressed with the third-year pro's vision, ability to gain yards after contact and the way he protects the ball in the pile. "I like what I have seen," Byner said. "I'd like to talk to LenDale and find out what some of his goals are and see how I can best assist him in that process." White recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the knee that bothered him last season, but he’s expected to be fully recovered in time for mini-camps in May.
February 9, 2008
LenDale White recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the knee injury that bothered him last season, according to the Tennessean. White's expected to be fully recovered in time for minicamps in May, so it appears that it was just a minor procedure.
January 19, 2008
LenDale White dealt with knee issues over the course of the season, and he's expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery in the near future, according to the Nashville Tennessean. White, who ran for 1,108 yards and seven touchdowns this past year, should be 100 percent by the start of training camp.
January 4, 2008
LenDale White missed Thursday's practice with a sore knee, the AP reports. He also sat out Wednesday's practice, albeit that was for personal reasons. If he can't do a lot Friday, the club might have to roll with Chris Brown as the starter at San Diego. Stay tuned.
