According to the Indianapolis Star, Joseph Addai missed Friday's practice and then informed the team that he had arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason.

Our View:Here's another case of an injured player hiding surgery from his team. Still, Addai says his knee is feeling better and he should be ready in plenty of time for training camp. Coming off a dreadful season, Addai with have to compete with Donald Brown, but should still be considered the Colts number one back.

The Colts have signed six undrafted rookie free agents. The signees are: defensive tackle Adrian Grady (Louisville), safety Brandon X. Harrison (Michigan), cornerback Jacob Lacey (Oklahoma State), punter Tim Masthay (Kentucky), receiver Brett McDermott (Holy Cross) and linebacker Tyrell Sales (Penn State).

Our View:Grady displays good quickness, but has a poor track record with durability. The other aforementioned players are not expected to make the Colts in 2009.

Joseph Addai was held to a mere 44 rushing yards on 16 carries in Saturday's 23-17 overtime loss to the Chargers. He also caught four passes for 28 receiving yards.

Our View:He scored the first touchdown of the game on a one-yard run, but the Colts' defense could not prevent the battle from going into overtime, which was ended on a 22-yard run by Darren Sproles.

Running back Joseph Addai (shoulder) played one series in the Week 17 win over the Titans, and he was able to reel in a 55-yard touchdown reception.

Our View:Addai wasn't expected to play at all, but the score should give him a little confidence heading into the playoffs. We would expect him to split time with Dominic Rhodes this January.
December 22, 2008
Joseph Addai (shoulder) is unlikely to play in Week 17 as the Colts will rest their injured players in a game against the Titans that is meaningless, according to the Indianapolis Star. Both teams have already clinched their playoff positions.

Our View:Refrain from starting Addai this week, but don't count on Dominic Rhodes either. He will likely rest as he recovers from bruised ribs.
