Mario Williams has been nursing a hamstring injury for around two weeks, according to the Texans' official website.

Our View:Williams broke out with 53 tackles and 12 sacks in 2008, and still has room to improve. He is not participating in OTAs, but the team does not seem concerned with the ailment and it appears to be minor.

The Houston Chronicle reports that grievances filed by several members of the Texans alleging they were injured during offseason pass rushing drills could take months. At least three Houston players claim they suffered season-ending injuries during OTAs prior to the 2008 season while participating in drills that are deemed illegal by the league's collective bargaining agreement.

Our View:Guard Dan Stevenson, center Chukky Okobi, and tackle Jordan Black have each taken action against the Texans, with Stevenson considering filing a lawsuit against the team.

The Associated Press reports that the Houston Texans have named David Gibbs their secondary coach.

Our View:Gibbs, the son of coaching legend Joe Gibbs, previously worked the same position at Denver from 2001-04 before coaching the defensive backs in Kansas City for the past three seasons.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the Houston Texans have hired Frank Bush to be the team's newest defensive coordinator.

Our View:Bush was promoted from "senior defensive assistant" to coordinator. He takes over for the fired Richard Smith. The Texans' defense was poor in 2008, allowing 24.6 points per game, which was 27th in the NFL; 213.9 passing yards per game, which was 17th; and 122.6 rushing yards per contest, which was 23rd.

Mario Williams exited Sunday's game against the Bears with a strained groin, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:He remained on the sideline during the Texans' next defensive series, and his return is uncertain.
