Samkon Gado has been released by the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Rams signed offensive lineman Anthony Davis as the adjoining move.

Our View:Antonio Pittman is healthy again and has been performing well, which made Gado expendable to improve depth on the offensive line.

The St. Louis Rams are having major problems on the injury front but today they got a little help in the backfield. The team has signed Samkon Gado to the active roster, according to NFL.com.

Our View:The Rams top three running backs, Steven Jackson (thigh), Antonio Pittman (hamstring), and Travis Minor (concussion) are all questionable this week. Gado will add some much needed depth to the backfield.

Samkon Gado reportedly has a tryout scheduled with the Patriots, according to the Palm Beach Post. He was a restricted free agent that the Dolphins decided not to bring back.

Our View:The 25-year old Gado has produced good numbers when given a chance to play, and he memorably racked up three 100+ yard performances in 2005 while a member of the Packers, with 171 yards (on 29 carries) coming in Week 14 of that season. He would provide solid depth to the Patriots' RB stable, and could push Sammy Morris for playing time as the top backup.

The Dolphins have shown no interest in retaining Samkon Gado for next season, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Apparently, they don't find the 2.8 average for yards per carry he posted last year that enticing.
November 28, 2007
The Dolphins cut Samkon Gado last week after activating Ricky Williams, but with Williams now out for the season and Jesse Chatman hobbled by ankle and neck injuries, the team is expected to re-sign Gado. According to the Miami Herald, Gado is more likely to start this week than third-string backup Patrick Cobbs, who was the lone running back standing on Monday night after both Williams and Chatman were knocked out of the game.
