Adrian Peterson has displayed a strong arm in practice and the Vikings may allow him to throw the ball out of the Wildcat formation this season, according to ESPN. Peterson said, "We picked up Percy Harvin, so we are going to be running a lot of different scat formations, maybe Wildcat. We might just throw that in there some. So, you guys just might see me on Sundays throwing the ball, too."

Our View:Peterson is already the No. 1 player in fantasy football, but being allowed to throw the ball a bit will add a little bonus to fantasy owners.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson is at 216 pound after lowering his body fat and adding six pounds of muscle in the offseason. Peterson said earlier this year that he would like to report to training camp at 230 pounds.

Our View:It's safe to say that Peterson is not going to weigh 230 pounds when he reports. He appears to be in great shape, but 230 is a bit too heavy for him. Peterson wanted to add weight to make himself more durable, but his coaching staff likes the size he is at right now.

Adrian Peterson would like to add bulk and get up to 230 pounds, but head coach Brad Childress feels that may be too heavy, according to the Star Tribune. Childress does not mind if Peterson gains some weight, but said, "Well, you know what, 230 is awful big. They are not required to weigh in right now, but I can tell you that he does not look any different, maybe even a little bit thinner right now."

Our View:Peterson played at around 218 pounds last season, and did not wear down, as he averaged 108 rushing yards over the last five games of the season. Adding bulk to hold up better over the season may be unnecesssary.

Adrian Peterson plans to gain 12 pounds for the 2009 campaign, according to the Star Tribune. He said, "Now is the time of the year to get down and dirty and really start getting after it. God willing I will get to 225, 230 just to see how it feels. Before the season starts I look forward to having my weight up so I will be able to see how it is when I run and cut and do different things like that."

Our View:Peterson feels the added weight will help him hold up better and stay healthier over the course of the season, and is not worried that his speed will be compromised while heavier. The Vikings are not concerned about him carrying extra weight as well.

The Vikings coach Brad Childress has hired three coaches, including Dennis Polian as the assistant to the head coach, according to the Associated Press. Polian is the son of Colts general manager Bill Polian. The team also hired Chris White as assistant special teams coach and Jason Glenn as special teams and player development assistant.

Our View:Polian most recently worked in the front office for Hamilton of the Canadian Football League.
