Matt Leinart is no longer opting to be dealt from Arizona, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Our View:Leinart will not open the season as Arizona's starter, though he wouldn't have anywhere else, either. Leinart apparently believes that staying in Arizona gives him the best chance to start this season, and we believe so too, given that Derek Anderson is one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league.

According to Len Pasquarelli of the Sports XChange, the Cardinals have given Matt Leinart permission to seek a trade.

Our View:It's just a technical move that comes on the heels of a few others intended to move the disgruntled QB out of town. Leinart's got no future in the desert, and unfortunately he probably has no future as a starter anywhere else. The interest in the former No. 10 overall pick has been non-existent.

According to the Denver Post, the Raiders have no interest in adding embattled Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart.

Our View:Happy with their trio of Jason Campbell, Bruce Gradkowski and Kyle Boller, they have little reason to pursue Leinart. Amazingly, Leinart could soon find himself in a similar situation to former Raiders signal-caller JaMarcus Russell: out of the league.

According to the Arizona Republic, Matt Leinart could be traded or released by Saturday.

Our View:The club is apparently still considering keeping him as Derek Anderson's back-up. What they are no longer considering is naming him the starter, however. What little fantasy value he had is now completely gone.

There has been a rumor that has surfaced claiming that Matt Leinart has been dealt to the Giants, though Fox Sports' Jay Glazer refutes the rumor.

Our View:The Giants are looking for a backup now that Jim Sorgi has been lost for the season, though they're looking for a veteran who's fine with a backup role, and Leinart doesn't seem to fit that bill. We'll have to wait and see how this Leinart drama play out, though no deal is imminent.
