Vince Young indicated that his sore ribs will not prevent him from playing this week. “I’ve got to play through it, just like everybody else in the NFL,” Young told the Tennessean. “I’m not one of those guys who’s going to sit on the sidelines because of a little bump or bruise.”

Vince Young suffered a quad contusion Monday night and may miss some practice time this week, but Jeff Fisher said he expects the quarterback to play against the Bengals Sunday, the Nashville Tennessean reports. Fisher said the injury is different than the right quad strain Young suffered running out of bounds against Tampa Bay on Oct. 14. Young was knocked out of that game and missed the following game at Houston.

Vince Young, who sat out the Titans' week seven win over the Texans because of a quad injury, will be back under center when the Titans host the Raiders on Sunday. "It was a very clear-cut decision we had to make," head coach Jeff Fisher told the Tennessean. "Now we have moved forward and said, 'OK, you have healed up to the point where you can go, so we expect you to take all the reps on the practice field and we'll put this behind you.' We'll be wise about it, and we'll get him back on the practice field and work him into it. But I think two weeks will be sufficient from a healing standpoint to where he won't re-injure it." Young will continue to receive treatment on his injured leg, but all indications are he's good to go. Kerry Collins was solid in Young's stead and would step in once again if there are complications with Young's return.

Vince Young will probably start Sunday's game against the Raiders, Titans Coach Jeff Fisher told the Nashville Tennessean. "It was a very clear-cut decision we had to make (about holding Young out against the Texans)," Fisher said. "Now we have also moved forward and said, 'OK, you have healed up to the point where you can go so we expect you to take all the reps on Wednesday on the practice field and we’ll put this behind you.' "

As expected, Vince Young sat out of Sunday's game due to his strained right quadriceps. "He'll be day-to-day this week and he'll have a much better chance to play this coming week," coach Jeff Fisher told the Tennessean. We should have a better idea of whether he'll be able to start in Week 8 as the week goes along, but it appears he should have a decent shot at being ready.

Quarterback Vince Young took part in practice with the scout team on Friday, but is still a game-time decision for the Titans game against the Houston Texans. Young strained his right quadriceps muscle against Tampa Bay last week, and missed the rest of the game and practices all this week.

Vince Young remains sidelined with a quad injury, and his availability may not be determined until game time on Sunday. “He threw the ball a little today,” Titans coach Jeff Fisher told the team’s official web site following Thursday’s practice. “He didn’t run around and test the leg out, but he threw the ball. He’s improving. The treatment procedures and everything are helping out. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. There’s a chance he could practice tomorrow. We just have to wait and see. It’s day-to-day and we will make a decision later on in the week. It could be as late as game time, whether or not he’ll play.”

Quarterback Vince Young missed another practice on Wednesday, and is unlikely to practice for the rest of the week. His status for Sunday's game in Young's hometown of Houston is up in the air at this point. "It's day to day right now. I can't just tell you I'm playing then don't play," Young said. "It's like lying not only to my teammates but all the people in the world that want to see me as well."

The injury that knocked Vince Young out of Sunday's game has been diagnosed as a strained right quadriceps. "We will evaluate it, and we will continue to evaluate," coach Jeff Fisher told the Tennessean. "He tried to stay as loose as he could in case we had an issue with Kerry (Collins). At this point he will just be day-to-day. It was not something that he could have played and played effectively with." The Titans don't seem too concerned about the injury, but whether he will be able to play in their next game is up in the air. Collins would start if Young can't.
October 14, 2007
Vince Young left Tennessee’s game against Tampa Bay in the third quarter with a left leg injury. He hurt his leg while running out of bounds, and there was no immediate word on the extent of the injury or if he would return to the game. Kerry Collins entered in Young’s place.

Titans quarterback Vince Young missed the final series of Monday's first half after going to the locker room to receive medical attention. ESPN reported Young injured his wrist and a minute later said he needed an IV to re-hydrate. Both may be true, and we’ll update his condition once more information is available.

Most of the Titans starters are slated to play into the third quarter of Thursday’s preseason game against the Packers, according to the Tennessean. No word yet as to whether Vince Young will play that long.
August 24, 2007
Vince Young was back in regular season form Friday night after completing 13-of-19 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown in the 28-17 win over Buffalo. Young, playing the first half only, also added a rushing TD.
August 17, 2007
Vince Young struggled in his preseason debut Friday, completing just 5-of-17 passes at New England and suffering four sacks in a half of play. Young also had nine yards rushing on four carries.
August 12, 2007
Vince Young didn't play in Saturday's preseason opener, benched for violating a team rule, the AP reports. It's believed Young was disciplined for missing a team curfew, though he also got into a fight with a teammate earlier in the week. None of this should change your ranking of the second-year quarterback, however.
August 2, 2007
Vince Young lost his cool during a drill on Wednesday and threw a punch with his throwing hand at safety Donnie Nickey. Fortunately, the AP reported, the punched glanced off Nickey’s helmeted head and Young was not hurt. Coach Jeff Fischer said he prefers to not see his quarterback throwing punches with his throwing hand, but that the incident was over with.

The Nashville Tennessean reports that Vince Young will be the coverboy for Madden 2008. Young's agent, however, isn't worried about the so-called Madden Curse that has stricken so many players in the past. "We don't believe in no jinx," agent Major Adams said. "People said when they put Vince on the cover of Sports Illustrated (that) it was going to jinx him in the Rose Bowl game, and (Texas) won the national championship. We don't believe in stuff like that. In the unfortunate event he gets hurt, it is just a part of the game, not because you have the cover." Shaun Alexander, last year's Madden coverboy, was limited to 10 games due to a foot injury and tallied fewer than 1,000 rushing yards (896) for the first time since his rookie year.
