Matt Cassel went 14-for-23 with 85 yards, a touchdown and an interception against the Eagles on Friday.

Our View:Cassel has looked alright through three preseason games thus far. He remains nothing more than a fantasy backup, and probably does not need to be owned in most leagues.

Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis will serve as the Chiefs' primary playcaller this season, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:Weis has had great offensive success in the NFL. While he had a whole lot more talent around him in New England, we still see this as a positive for Matt Cassel, Jamaal Charles and company.

Matt Cassel is "unequivocally" the starting quarterback for the Chiefs, according to Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star.

Our View:This is really no surprise at all as the Chiefs are too financially invested in Cassel to start anyone else, but there's always a chance for change when a new offensive coordinator like Charlie Weis is brought into the mix. The report also states that Weis was hired to be a mentor for Cassel in order to refine his motion and overall skills.

According to the Kansas City Star, second-year Chiefs head coach Todd Haley has "kind of settled down" this offseason.

Our View:Haley was often viewed as petulant and immature during his first year as the Chiefs head coach in 2009, but has apparently learned from some of his mistakes this offseason. Expect a slightly looser Kansas City team in 2010.

Updating an earlier report, Charlie Weis will in fact be the next offensive coordinator of the Chiefs, according to Chris Mortensen's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:Weis failed to impress as the head honcho at Notre Dame, but was a great offensive coordinator with the New England Patriots, as he helped lead the team to three championships in the last decade. His presence should benefit the Chiefs' offense, namely quarterback Matt Cassel.

Former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis, the offensive coordinator for all three of New England's Super Bowl titles last decade, could be Kansas City's next offensive coordinator, according to Sports Illustrated.

Our View:He worked with Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli while in New England, and head coach Todd Haley while with the Jets. Weis has also been rumored to be a legitimate candidate for Chicago's opening at offensive coordinator. It looks like he'll be back on NFL sidelines for sure next season.

Matt Cassel completed 13-of-24 passes for 207 yards, no scores and an interception in Sunday's 44-24 win over the Broncos.

Our View:Cassel quitely ran the offense in Week 17, but it was the Jamal Charles show. The KC signal caller just missed out on 3,000 yards for the season, but had an overall disappointing campaign in his first year with the Chiefs. He ended up with 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
