Oshiomogho Atogwe is progressing from his nagging hamstring injury and fared well at practice Monday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Coach Scott Linehan said, "He looked sharp. It seems to be close to 100 percent. So he's going to get work a little similar to like we're doing with Steven Jackson. We'll try to accelerate his mental work and his conditioning." Atogwe got work in both individual drills and team periods Monday. Atogwe is being smart with the injury and said, "You don't want to come back too early, or else they'll be lingering all season. So I'm going to get it right so it'll be good for the rest of the year."

Our View:Atogwe will serve as a solid No. 2 defensive back for IDP leagues if he can stay healthy.

After not practicing for about a month, Rams safety Oshiomogho Atogwe participated in drills on Monday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Atogwe had a nagging hamstring injury, and his presence in the defensive backfield is important to the Rams. He also makes for a good selection in IDP leagues, as he led the NFL with eight interceptions last season.

Rams saftey Oshiomogho Atogwe's hamstring injury is improving, and he could return to the practice field soon, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The team expects him to be ready for Week 1.

Our View:Atogwe led the NFC with eight interceptions last season and would make a solid addition to fantasy owners in IDP leagues.

Oshiomogho Atogwe is still nursing his hamstring injury and sat out practice Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:If healthy, Atogwe would rank as a good No. 2 defensive back for IDP leagues. We will continue to monitor his status as the regular season draws closer.

Oshiomogho Atogwe took part in his first practice since July 28 on Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Atogwe was limited but he said, "It felt good to be back out there with pads on and hitting a couple of people. I'm just focused on getting all the way back healthy so that when the season-opener comes around, I'm ready to go full-steam." He missed most of training camp with a pulled hamstring.

Our View:He participated in the morning but sat out the afternoon practice for precautionary reasons. If healthy, Atogwe ranks as a solid No. 2 defensive back for IDP leagues.

Oshiomogho Atogwe was on the sideline for Sunday's final minicamp practice due to a hamstring injury, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He sat out Saturday as well.

Our View:The team did not specify the severity of the ailment. Atogwe racked up 75 tackles (66 solo) and eight interceptions in 2007, with one defensive score. He is very valuable to the team, and they should be cautious with his recovery.

The Rams will be retaining talented safety Oshiomogho Atogwe , according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Rams placed their first-round tender offer on the powerful young safety and opened the floor for potential suitors to bring offer sheets to Atogwe with hopes of signing him away from St. Louis. The deadline for teams to make such offers has come and gone and no other team seemed willing to compensate the Rams with their 1st-round draft pick to sign Atogwe.

Our View:Now Atogwe is expected to sign the one-year tender offer that will pay him $2 million his season and will make him a free agent at the end of the coming season (assuming the Rams do not come to terms on a long-term agreement with Atogwe, a very real possibility as the team and Atogwe's agents are sure to meet in coming days to discuss those options).
