The Bengals website tells us the team has yet to add him to the roster, but coach Marvin Lewis said, "He's had a good week of practice. Obviously he got the message and he spent the four weeks (of suspension) being very productive." Our View:Henry averaged three catches per game last season and that is a good projection for his impact this Sunday if he is on the roster and assuming Carson Palmer starts. |

Our View:Henry would once again give the Bengals a very capable three receiver set. His fantasy value would be limited, though, because Carson Palmer may not play, and because his conditioning may not be where it needs to right now. |

October 1, 2008 Chris Henry once again practiced with the Bengals on Wednesday, according to the AP. The 0-4 Bengals released Henry due to numerous conduct violations but turned around and re-signed the receiver. Henry has not officially been added to the roster, so during practice he worked with the scout team and played the role of Terrell Owens. Our View:Henry has been serving a four-game suspension and his return will add another weapon to the Bengals offense. There is no official word on if Henry will be on the active roster for the Bengals Week 5 game versus the Cowboys. |

Henry is suspended for the first four games of the season. Our View:Chad Johnson is dealing with an injured shoulder and T.J. Houshmandzadeh has a bum hamstring, but this move suggests the Bengals really don't like what they've seen out of Antonio Chatman, Marcus Maxwell, or any of their three rookie receivers. Henry should take over the No. 3 role by Week 5, provided he doesn't break a law between now and then. |

August 18, 2008 ESPN.com is reporting that Chris Henry is on his way from Charlotte, N.C., to Cincinnati to sign a contract with the Bengals. Henry was released by the team in March following his fifth arrest in three years. The charges were later dropped, making him eligible to play in 2008. However, the NFL still suspended him for the first four games of the season. Our View:Henry is obviously a big question mark because of his off-the-field issues, but there's no denying his talent. Our View:Henry is a load to deal with, but there is no denying he is a very talented receiver, and he would provide a spark to the Ravens' aerial attack while working alongside Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton. The former member of the Bengals had been accused of punching a man in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle, and had been charged with assault and criminal damaging. Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Richard Bernat dropped the criminal damaging charge today. Henry testified that he swung at his accuser in self-defense. Our View:Henry is on indefinite suspension from the NFL pending the outcome of this trial, which is expected to continue early next week when the jury is expected to begin deliberating the remaining assault charge. |

"There are two teams that I would always love to play for: that's New Orleans and Dallas," Henry said. "New Orleans is home for me. That's always been a big dream of mine. Henry’s attorney, Perry Ancona, previously asked Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Rich Bernat if Henry could be released from electronic monitoring and house arrest so he could travel to another city and try out for a National Football League team. The judge denied that request until today, when Ancona repeated that Henry has an offer to try out for an unnamed NFL team and needs to be allowed to travel. “We’re willing to give him some latitude given the fact that he obviously needs to find some employment,” Bernat said. Cincinnati police pulled his red, 2007 Land Rover over March 16 in the 2100 block of Vine Street in University Heights, and Henry paid a $149 fine on March 26. This is minor stuff in the grand scheme of things, but this incident seems to point to Henry being unable to take care of mundane tasks in his everyday life.
