Week 1 inactives: WR Reggie Brown, WR Brandon Gibson, S Sean Jones, LB Joe Mays, RT Shawn Andrews, G Mike McGlynn, OL Todd Herremans and DE Jason Babin.

Our View:Kevin Curtis (knee), Brian Westbrook (knee) and Leonard Weaver (knee) are active. Curtis and Westbrook will start, while Sean Jones is a surprise scratch.

Eagles' beat writer Brian Seltzer is reporting on his Twitter page that he expects wide receiver Reggie Brown to be a healthy scratch for the team's Week 1 encounter with the Panthers. Brown traveled with the team to Carolina amidst reports that he could be cut before the game.

Our View:The Eagles didn't cut him, but that doesn't change the fact that he is buried on the team's depth chart. He can't stick around in Philly all season, so expect him to be moved by the team sooner or later.

Reggie Brown has not been released, and has traveled with the team to Carolina for its Week 1 matchup with the Panthers, according to Scout.com.

Our View:Brown is near the bottom on the depth chart of the Eagles' seven receivers, and has no future in the City of Brotherly Love. He will likely be traded at some point this season.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Reggie Brown has displayed a good work ethic in minicamps while catching "most everything thrown his way."

Our View:Last season was a nightmare for Brown. He started out battling hamstring injuries and watched younger receivers bypass him on the depth chart. By the time he was able to return to the lineup, he was the fourth or fifth receiver. Towards the end of the season and playoffs, he was simply deactivated for some games. The Eagles would prefer to trade him, but may elect to carry him as a sixth receiver behind Kevin Curtis, DeSean Jackson, Hank Baskett, Jason Avant and Jeremy Maclin.

Reggie Brown could ask to leave the Eagles if he does not have a solid role in 2009, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Brown said, "I do not think I am gonna force the issue too much unless I have to. Unless things start to decline to me not playing at all when I know I should be and everyone know I should be. Then I might push the issue a little bit, but right now I am just trying to focus on what I have to do to become a better receiver."

Our View:Brown is not going to start, and should sit behind rising star DeSean Jackson, Hank Baskett, Kevin Curtis and potentially rookie Jeremy Maclin on the depth chart. It sounds like he is not going to be content with a bench role this season.
