Mark Clayton (shoulder) returned to practice on Sunday and appears to be just fine, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Clayton has looked strong in camp this far and appears to be the teams WR2 this season behind Derrick Mason, though Demetrius Williams could eventually see some passes once healthy.

Mark Clayton did not practice Saturday as he is nursing a sprained right shoulder, according to TSN.

Our View:Clayton would not rule out playing in the Ravens' pre-season opener Thursday night against the Patriots, and the ailment seems to be minor.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Mark Clayton has been running exclusively with the first team because Demetrius Williams is on the physically-unable-to-perform list with an injury to his lower left leg.

Our View:He didn't score a touchdown last season and averaged 2.9 yards after the catch. He had three or fewer catches in 11 of 16 games. The article points out that he was dealing with a divorce with his wife who was pregnant with his child throughout the 2007 season. He was a 2005 first round pick and could be poised to have a breakout season.

Mark Clayton missed practice on Friday due to a sore back. He's listed as questionable, according to the Baltimore Sun. However, coach Brian Billick said he expects Clayton to play on Sunday. Many had him pegged for a breakout season, but he battled injuries and hasn't even caught a touchdown this year. Maybe he'll get his first in the finale. Then again, maybe not.

Mark Clayton woke up from a season-long stupor Sunday to catch eight passes for 107 yards. He entered the season as a sleeper, but a toe injury and the success of Derrick Mason slowed his production early on. He benefited Sunday from playing the hapless Bengals defense, but he had a 47-yard catch, so maybe this is a sign of things to come in the second half of the season. He'd also benefit if the Ravens stick with Kyle Boller, who replaced Steve McNair during Sunday's contest.
